chapter 20
Seungcheol sat at his desk with his laptop to his essay open but nothing came to his mind. All he could think about was his day out with the younger boys. He would never admit it but it made him happy. Not only because he felt actually forgiven -which was the main reason he agreed. At first, the tension was thick but after a while, they felt comfortable around each other again. Seungcheol always felt socially isolated but being around them made him feel different.
He almost forgot about his outbreak day before, as well as Hayoung.
He tried not to let it get to him and tried to focus on his essay but it was no use.
The screaming and laughing come from the room next to him didn't help. The two were getting ready for the party and they were really happy about it.
Seungcheol sighed and closed his laptop. It could wait.
The man walked over to their room -at this point, it was shared- and opened the door. He saw Jeonghan smiling as he was doing Joshua's makeup. Both of them were wearing the clothes they had bought. The American seemed to be trying not to laugh, earning himself a scolding from Jeonghan.
They really did look happy.
Jeonghan was the first to notice Seungcheol as he called out his name, telling him to come over. It confused him but he still complied.
"Doesn't he look good?" Jeonghan asked and pointed to Joshua, who didn't seem to agree.
"He does." Seungcheol was being honest, he really did find the American attractive but especially now. He looked back up at Jeonghan and wanted to add, "so do you" but that would be weird. And besides, Jeonghan would never let him forget he said it. Instead, he said, "You're good at makeup."
"Why, thank you." He grinned. It didn't seem like anything too much but Seungcheol was intrigued by the way a bit of makeup could transform your face.
"What would Seungcheol look like with makeup?" Joshua asked and stood up from the bed.
"Oh, hell no." He started to walk out but was held back by both boys.
"Cheol, let me do your makeup," Jeonghan demanded and forced him to sit on the bed.
Seungcheol didn't have time to protest because he was trying to process the fact he was called by that nickname. It shouldn't have been surprising since it was easy to get from his name. But the affection that came from it made him feel something. Was it happiness?
That sounded edgy.
Of course, he'd felt happy many times before but it felt different.
He must've been thinking for a long time because Jeonghan said he was done.
"You look great," Jeonghan said. Was he complimenting Seungcheol or himself? "Your eyelids are easy to do and you have nice lips."
"You probably made me look like a clown," he grumbled.
"You actually do look nice." Joshua looked over, not a hint of lying on his face, and held his front camera up. Seungcheol had to admit, he did look good and the red liptint and faint matching eyeshadow did suit him.
"Oh," was all he could say.
"You're welcome." Jeonghan pulled him off the bed and pushed him out the room.
"What was the point of doing my-" He was cut off by a glare. Seungcheol wanted to laugh at that but decided against it.
"You're going to be our driver," he said. First an involuntary hotel owner and now a driver? "Now go put on a suit."
"I'm going to beat you-" Now, he was cut off by the door closing on his face. How lovely.
Why did I agree to this? he asked himself as he looked in the mirror while tying his tie. It's not like he had to but it's not like he had anything else to do either. He was willing to do anything at this point to distract himself.
Seungcheol walked into the hallway and knocked on the boys' room. Shortly after, the door had been opened and the man almost forgot how to breathe at the sight. The two boys standing in front of him looked almost unreal with lips practically sparkling and light blue eyeshadow to match their outfits. Their hair was also done; Jeonghan's now straightened and shining blond made him look like an angel while Joshua's was moved to the side, exposing his forehead. And was Joshua wearing blue contacts?
"Someone's fancy," Jeonghan said and scanned Seungcheol's figure. "That looks nice on you."
"It does," Joshua agreed and walked forward.
"Thanks?" Seungcheol rubbed the back of his neck, not knowing what else to say. "When are we going?"
"Right now." Both boys walked past him and downstairs. Seungcheol followed behind as they walked to the car parked in front of the house.
"That car?" Seungcheol scoffed before going to open the garage door.
"It's a nice car," Joshua said.
"Ew." The man walked in and pointed to a black Jaguar XF. "That's what you take to a party."
Both pairs of eyes widened and walked over in awe. Times like this was when being rich was nice. He unlocked the car and got in the driver's seat, waiting for them to finish admiring the car. He watched as Jeonghan pushed Joshua into shotgun. When they were both seated, Jeonghan gave him the directions.
Seungkwan's house was far from Seungcheol's but he recognized it as a place close to his former gang area, reminding him to be careful. The distance gave Joshua and Jeonghan time to discuss what would happen at the party. Seungcheol had to admit, he sort of felt left out. He wasn't used to not being invited to places.
Whatever, he'd have to get used to them. Serves him right, anyways.
Once they'd arrived, Jeonghan made him walk them to the building. He was against it but the pressure of the two evil men was difficult to ignore. After telling them to have fun, he walked back to the car but drove in the opposite direction of his house.
What a mistake, seeing in less than five minutes, the back window had been smashed in.
