chapter 34
Seungcheol prepared himself for what he was going to say as he waited for Joshua to walk through his doorway. He'd been thinking of a response ever since the American ran out of his room after he'd confessed his feelings. Although the action had surprised him, he understood how it must've felt.
"Can I sit?" Joshua asked, pointing to the space on the bed next to where the older man was sitting to which he was answered with a nod. "So about yesterday."
"Your confession?"
"Yes, don't interrupt me," he warned and Seungcheol had to admit his tone was quite effective. "I'm sorry for acting like that, I was just worried. There was no intention behind the confession, you don't have to feel the same either, I just wanted you to know I felt and I hope it doesn't change anything between us."
Had he practiced his words before? Seungcheol wondered as he waited for the other man to finish speaking.
"Thank you for telling me," the Korean replied with a small smile. "It doesn't make anything weird at all."
"Are you sure?" he nervously asked. "I can leave if it makes you uncomfortable or-"
"Joshua, stop worrying about everything so much," Seungcheol said and put his hand over the American's significantly larger ones. Once Joshua had nodded, the elder decided to ask another question. "Have you told Jeonghan?"
Joshua shook his head.
"Why so?"
"I don't know, it just... everything with his ex and he seems to be going through things."
"Tell him when you're ready, alright? He'll be fine, trust me."
Joshua nodded and stood up from the bed after glancing at the time. As he began to leave the room, they said good night to each other and that was that. Seungcheol hoped his friend's next confession would go well. Something told him it would.
Another night passed without any disruptions in sleep.
Seungcheol woke up earlier than the rest, as he would everyday. His head wasn't hurting as he repeated his daily morning routine. It was a day he'd have to go training, he realized.
Shit, I'm going to have to face Jonghyun, he thought with a small groan as he finished his coffee. He hadn't talked to the man ever since the situation with Hayoung. He didn't feel guilty anymore but it was still strange.
"Good morning," Jeonghan greeted happily, surprising the man.
"You're up early," he noticed and raised an eyebrow.
"Yes of course, Joshuji and I have to go somewhere today!"
"That's nice," he replied, voice lacking any interest until he noticed how upset the younger man looked hearing how Seungcheol didn't care. "Where to?"
"He won't say," Jeonghan whined and sat down beside Seungcheol before lying his head down onto the table..
They were going on a date, Seungcheol assumed and glanced over at the man sitting beside him. He couldn't control the urge to squish the boy's cheek and let out a small laugh when Jeonghan frowned. He had always been cute whenever he frowned.
"Morning losers," Joshua's voice called from the staircase. "Oh. Jeonghan's early."
"Surprise, I know?" Seungcheol replied with a grin. "Good morning to you too."
