chapter 26

The amount of times Seungcheol had sat up from the bed just to lay back down was uncountable. He was bored out of his mind but also too tired to get up. He couldn't stop checking the time, hoping it was time for Joshua to come home.

Maybe he missed him but he couldn't stand how quiet the house was. Before today, he'd missed the quiet but this sort of quiet was unsettling. He'd gotten used to the others' laughter and yelling.

Speaking of Joshua and Jeonghan, were they still mad? He didn't want them to be but who'd blame them? Seungcheol wanted to socialize, he really did. The issue was that he wasn't used to it. He never showed affection for anyone because he was never taught how to. Nor had anyone shown affection for him.

Except for the two boys he was currently living with. They were nice to him and he repaid them by being an asshole.

Why couldn't he just apologize and get it over with? His ego wouldn't let him and whenever he even tried to apologize, it never seemed sincere.

Rather than getting up again, he called his cat over but she remained at the foot of his bed. Stupid brat, he thought and turned over to look through his drawer. The first thing he saw was the flower crown he'd made with Jeonghan.

He took it out, not noticing the smile growing on his face at first. Red had always been his favorite color but now he appreciated it more. He'd never admit it but he had fun making it with the boy and it was beautiful.

Just like Jeonghan, the voice in the back of his head spoke. It surprised him but he wasn't going to disagree with it. Even if he no longer had romantic feelings for the boy, he still found him beautiful: both physically and personality-wise.

If only he could tell him that.

He put the flower crown onto the bedside table, next to his laptop. He picked up the MacBook and typed in the password. He didn't know why he hadn't changed it or why Joshua never questioned it.

Did Joshua even know their birthdays? Did Seungcheol know Joshua's birthday?

I'll ask him later. He shrugged it off and tapped his fingers on the pad, not knowing what to do. He opened Minecraft for the first time in years and read through the world names.

Jihan's Kingdom, one read. Seungcheol scoffed at the name the two had thought of but opened it anyway.

Seungcheol found out how talented they were -or just one of them- as he flew around and saw their builds. In such a short amount of time, they'd built more houses and fortresses than Seungcheol ever could in months.

One house had caught his attention.

It looked exactly like his.

Impressed, he landed on the ground to walk up to it. A sign on the door had said Joshua's nickname, which had meant he built it. Seungcheol would never understand what a "Joshuji" was or why it bothered him.

The inside was mostly empty, except for a staircase that led to nothing and a black cat on one of them.

It made Seungcheol happy to see they'd built his house. It probably didn't even have a meaning besides they were bored but it meant a lot to him.

It still needed rooms and decorating.

All Seungcheol did for about an hour was add rooms into the house, hoping Joshua wouldn't mind. When he grew tired, he closed the screen and checked the time. Half an hour until Joshua came back.

The door to his room opened as he was calculating the time.

Seungcheol looked over to see Jeonghan standing by his doorway. Don't be rude, he told himself. Don't be rude. don't be mean, don't-
