Elena had a lot of explaining to do to Snape about why he had to take points away from his own daughter and why she had detention and last but not least why she was out on the castle grounds after dark. Snape wasn't happy that Elena had been snooping about the library and even at Hagrid's in the middle of the night for answers but it was his fault she did it considering he could have always just told her the truth about the Stone, Fluffy, Nicholas Flamel, and Quirrel but he was trying to protect her from his suspicions of the Dark Lord himself returning.

"A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons... God, I miss the screaming" Filch said reminiscing on the good old days in his opinion.

"Delightful" Elena commented sharing a look with Draco and Blaise.

"You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight he's got a little job to do inside the Dark Forest" Filch murmured as they walked closer to Hagrid's hut.

"Blimey, is anyone else cold?" Blaise ground out hugging himself.

"Blaise, its the middle of the night and we're about to go into a forest that's forbidden, not to mention its still winter," Elena remarked.

"She means, of course, it's cold, Zabini" Draco rolled his eyes.

"I'm sorry about this lot, Hagrid" Filch apologized gesturing to the six students next to him before he heard Hagrid sniff, "Oh, good God man your not still on about that bloody dragon are you?" Filch asked holding his lantern a bit higher.

"What happened, Hagrid?" Elena questioned not liking the sight of her giant friend crying.

"Norbet's gone, Dumbledore sent him off to Romania to live in a colony" Hagrid sniffed as he readjusted his crossbow.

"Well, that's good, isn't it?" Hermione asked, "he'll be with his own kind."

"Yeah, but what if he doesn't like Romania? What if the other dragons are mean to him? He's only a baby after all" Hagrid asked with worry making Blaise, Draco, and even Filch roll their eyes.

"I'm sure he'll like Romania," Elena said trying to comfort Hagrid.

"Oh for God's sake pull yourself together man you're going into the Dark Forest after all" Filch stated, "got to have your wits about you" the caretaker warned.

"The forest I thought that was a joke" Draco exclaimed, "we can't go in there students aren't allowed" he pointed out.

"And there are..." Blaise glanced over at the trees before a howling sound echoed through the air, "werewolves."

"Ah, there's more than werewolves in those trees, lad, you can be, sure of that" Filch said as he turned around to leave, "nighty night."

"Well, that's comforting" Elena muttered.

"You have the..." Draco whispered his eyes trying to silently tell her something.

"Not going in there without it" Elena nodded.

"Without what?" Harry asked interrupting their private conversation.

"None of your business, Potter" Draco sneered.

"My crystal charms, see" Elena held out her wrist to them, "they give off light in the darkest of places" she explained showing the Gryffindors the bracelet Draco's mother had gotten her for Christmas.

"Charms? You're worried about charms when we have to go in there" Blaise said in disbelief.

"Mental that one I'm telling you" Ron muttered to Harry.
