Elena slid into the seat next to Draco and behind Ron and Harry she was still exhausted from yesterday but transfiguration class should be fun or at least worth holding her attention. McGonagall lightly tapped her wand on the edge of her desk trying to settle down all the students chattering before she walked up to a high stool where her familiar was perched.
"Could I have your attention, please?" McGonagall asked glancing over the class, "right, now today we will be transforming animals into water goblets" she announced getting excited and impressed looks. "Like so... 1, 2, 3 Vera Verto" she waved her wand gently touching her bird before a spark hit it turning McGonagall's familiar into a clean glass goblet, "now, who would like to go first?" she asked glancing around, "ah, Mr. Weasely, 1, 2, 3, Vera Verto" McGonagall repeated to Ron.
"Vera Verto" Ron spoke up turning his rat, Scabbers into only a half a goblet with its tail flailing around and the surface of the cup covered in fur making everyone laugh.
"That wand needs replacing, Mr. Weasley" McGonagall sighed before turning to Hermione who had her hand up, "yes, Miss Granger" she nodded.
"Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets?" Hermione nervously asked peeking everyone's interests including Draco and Elena who shared a knowing look.
"Very well," McGonagall breathed out. "As you, all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four witches and wizards of the age, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin," she said as she paced up and down in front of the class. "Now, three of the founders coexistented quite harmoniously. One did not."
"Three guesses who?" Ron quipped making Elena roll her eyes. The Golden Trio still wasn't too happy about her having Draco and Blaise as friends. And even though they helped stop Voldemort last year at their own expense Harry and Ron still couldn't let their hatred go. Such, typical boys.
"Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept in all magic families. In other words, Pure-bloods" McGonagall explained, Draco would have agreed with that at the beginning of last year to satisfy the Slytherins and keep up his Malfoy image but now with Elena and even Hermione, who he was slowly starting to acknowledge as an actual person he wasn't so sure anymore, "unable to sway the others, he left the school. Now, according to legend Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in the castle known as the Chamber of Secrets" Elena glanced over at Draco who shrugged he only heard stories of it never any confirmations that it actually existed. "Though, shortly before departing, he sealed it until that time when his own true heir returned to the school. The heir alone would be able to open the Chamber and unleash the horror within and by doing so purge the school of all those who in Slytherin's view, were unworthy to study magic."
"Muggle-borns" Hermione said getting a nod from McGonagall.
"Naturally the school has been searched many times, no such chamber has been found" McGonagall reassured them.
"Professor, what exactly does legend tell us about what lies within the chamber if it did exist?" Elena asked.
"The Chamber is said to be home to something that only the heir of Slytherin can control. It is said to be the home of a monster" McGonagall answered.
Draco noticed Elena's behavior had changed altogether she was fidgety and nervous which was unlike the redhead but when Ron and Harry swung around glaring daggers at him probably convincing themselves that he's the heir, Draco smirked playing with their heads until Elena lightly elbowed him ripping his attention away from them.

"Now, this is the last place I thought I'd find you" Blaise chuckled walking into the room to see Elena sprawled out on her bed her green eyes helplessly glued to the wall.
"You're not supposed to be in here" Elena mumbled, "it's the girls' dormitory."
"Yeah, well if I had any ill intentions I would have fallen to my death straight into Snape's office," Blaise remarked a sliver of fear for her father making a shiver run down his spine. "So, since I'm a good boy I was allowed entry."
Elena scoffed but dropped the subject.
"Blaise, what if I'm it?" Elena asked lazily propping herself up on her elbows to stare at the Zabini.
"What do you mean it?" he questioned feeling lost in the conversation twist.
"The heir, what if I'm Slytherins heir!" Elena exclaimed.
"Oh, right" Blaise nodded falling down next to his best friend on the bed, "Draco told me what McGonagall said, and hey, 'Lena if you are somehow the heir we'll figure it out" Blaise reassured her.
"Figure what out? If I am the heir I'm freaking destined to open the Chamber of Secrets and let out a monster who by the way no one knows exactly what it is only that the heir can control it so it can purge the school of all muggle-borns" Elena ranted jumping up to pace the room nervously. "I like muggle-borns, hell I grew up as a muggle-born, Blaise, and I don't want to control some ancient Slytherin killing beast" Elena threw her arms in the air out of breath before Blaise stood back up wrapping Elena in a soothing and limb restricting hug.
"Easy, easy. I know" Blaise sighed rubbing her back, "but look on the bright side if you are the heir you can control the monster, right? Keep it from killing muggle-borns and anyone else, yeah?"
"And how exactly am I going to do that?" Elena asked pulling away from Blaise to flop down on her bed again, "I don't even know what the hell the monster is or where the Chamber of Secrets is hidden... I don't know, how it's killing or petrifying people or cats if I am the heir what am I supposed to do?"
"I don't know" Blaise shook his head he was at a complete loss, Elena was right if she was the heir she should be able to do everything, control the monster and open the Chamber of Secrets if only she knew how, but shouldn't she instinctively know-how if she really was the heir shouldn't she know it? "Wait, where are you going?" Blaise asked watching Elena head for the door cellphone in hand.
"To phone my brothers, tell them I'm safe and that school's going great" Elena answered opening the door.
"But you're not safe none of us are and the school's pretty much on lockdown," Blaise said his brows furrowed in confusion.
"I know, but if I tell my brothers that, Dean will definitely want to yank me out for my own protection and I'm not going anywhere not until I figure out what the hell is going on" Elena stated, feeling more confident than she was a little while ago.
"You're right, good luck" Blaise smiled giving her an encouraging thumbs-up before remembering where exactly he was, "Wait, don't leave me here" he called out.
