"Isn't it exciting?" Hermione asked locking arms with Elena as they made their way onto the field and towards the rest of the class.

"Flying?" Elena asked tilting her head in confusion.

"Flying on a broomstick" Hermione smiled, "I've read all about it and even a few documentaries on quidditch it's truly fascinating."

"Mmhmm, fascinating" Elena nodded.

"Elena..." Hermione stopped making the redhead stumble backward just before they got to their places, "why... why were you sorted into Slytherin you're nothing like those snakes" Hermione whispered gesturing to Blaise and Draco.

"Hermione..." Elena sighed her Gryffindor friend really had no idea how much she was like them and how much Slytherin suited her, Elena may be brave at heart and sometimes reckless, but she was more a snake than anything else she could manipulate people to her will, she was cunning and ambitious and not to mention her flawless self-preservation that not only she had but her brothers, Sam and Dean.

"Good afternoon, class" Madam Hooch greeted cutting Elena's next words off as she and Hermione got into their positions, Elena next to Blaise and Draco and Hermione next to Harry and Ron.

"GOOD AFTERNOON, MADAM HOOCH!" the students all greeted in unison.

"Welcome to your first flying lesson" Madam Hooch smiled, "well, what are you waiting for, everyone step up to the left-hand side of their broomsticks" she instructed. "Stick your right hand over the broom and say 'up'."

"UP!" Harry and Elena demanded, making their brooms fly straight into their hands, Blaise and Hermione eyed the two unhappily as they carried on commanding their own brooms.

"Up" Draco held his hand out making the broom immediately shoot into his hand a famous Malfoy smirk playing at his lips.

"With feeling" Madam Hooch insisted when she watched the struggling students.

"Up!" Ron yelled making his broom jump up whacking him in the face and earning himself everyone's laughter.

"Ouch!" Elena muttered, "Ron, you okay?" she asked through her giggles.

"Shut up Elena, Harry" Ron rubbed his nose even laughing at himself at this point.

"UP!" Blaise commanded getting the broom shooting out at him, Elena quickly gripped the handle before it could knock Blaise unconscious, "thanks" he mumbled.

"No, problem."

"Now, once you've gotten hold of your broom I want you to mount it and grip it tight... you don't want to be sliding off the end" Madam Hooch muttered.

Elena did as she was told and as Lucius and Draco had taught her while the rest of the class looked absolutely lost in how to position themselves on the broom.

"When I blow my whistle I want each of you to kick off from the ground hard, keep your brooms steady, hover for a moment, lean forward slightly and touch back down... on my whistle 3, 2" Madam Hooch instructed before blowing her whistle.

Before anyone could kick off Neville started floating up shakily his broom tilting back and forth, "Mr. Longbottom" Madam Hooch called, "Mr. Longbottom!" she yelled when the broom spun Neville taking him high into the sky and heading straight for the castle's brick wall.

"Son of a bitch!" Elena hissed before kicking off and flying after Neville.

"Miss Snape!" Madam Hooch yelled, "come back down this instant both of you" she demanded as Neville's broom swung around the head and the bristles hitting the bricks with force before flipping him upside down and shooting him forward and through the audience of students with Elena right behind him.
