Elena tiredly made it to class the next morning with Blaise and Draco beside her ever since her name was mentioned along with Harry's everywhere the two went the students would stare at them in either astonishment or excitement which in Elena's opinion just freaked her out like she was going to sprout wings and zap a halo above her head or grow a tail and get devil horns embedded in her skull.
"Transfiguration theory, joy" Elena muttered as she slid into her seat with Blaise behind her and Draco next to her it was strange but even after one day everything already felt built-in like a routine they'd been doing for years.
McGonagall was verbally teaching them before turning herself into her Anigmas which was a grey cat with black stripes she was testing the students' theories about the transfigurations as she sat curled up on her desk before Harry and Ron came running in making everyone's attention snap to the pair.
"Phew! We made it" Ron sighed catching his breath.
"I beg to differ" Elena muttered under her breath while Draco smirked at them knowing exactly what was coming.
"Can you imagine the look on McGonagall's face if we were late?" Ron said dropping his books onto the desk.
"Oh, we can imagine," Elena remarked.
"Imagination's just come real" Blaise retorted as the three Slytherin's watched McGonagall leap off of her desk transfiguring herself back into her human form and scaring the two Gryffindor's into minor heart attacks.
"That was bloody brilliant!" Ron exclaimed.
"Well, thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley, perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure yourself and Mr. Potter into a pocket watch that way one of you might be on time," McGonagall said.
"We got lost," Harry apologized.
"Then perhaps a map, I trust you don't need one to find your seats" McGonagall stated as she walked back to the front of the class leaving Harry and Ron to slip into the desk in front of Elena and Draco.
The door flew open as Snape swept through the room his black cape trailing behind him before he snapped back around to face the students.
"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class as such I don't expect many of you to respect the subtle science and the exact art that is potion-making" Snape stated leaning an arm against his podium, "however for those select few" Snape's eyes immediately locked onto his daughter and Draco making them smile up at him, "who possess the predisposition I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses, I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death" Snape informed them making Elena perk up excitedly potions was always her favorite subject of magic.
"Then again maybe some of you have come to Hogwart's in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to, Not. Pay. Attention" Snape sounded out raising his voice as he stared displeasingly over at Harry who was intently writing down notes before Hermione elbowed him in the side. "Mr. Potter one of our new celebrities," Snape said making Elena glance over at her brother who gulped nervously, "tell me what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Snape asked.
