Elena ran into Snape's chambers a smile plastered on her face as she blurted out the password and slipped into her dad's common room or living room she wasn't really sure but right now she was too happy to stop and think about it.

"Dad?" Elena called out rounding the corner leading into the kitchen before she bumped right into Snape.

"Elena, are you alright?" Snape asked his eyes sweeping over his daughter checking for any injuries or any sign of trouble.

"I'm great" Elena grinned almost bouncing on the spot.

"You never come into my chambers what's the matter?" Snape asked guiding his daughter over to the sofa.

"I wanted to ask you something?" Elena announced curling up in the armchair while Snape gracefully sat in his favorite recliner.

"Alright..." Snape stared at Elena unsure of what was happening.

"Will you come to the quidditch game between Gryffindor and Slytherin?"

"Elena, I am a teacher here I come to all the quidditch games" Snape reminded her making Elena roll her green eyes at him. "Putting that fact aside, I would never miss one of your quidditch games let alone the first one of the year and season."

Elena jumped up from her seat and grabbed Snape in a hug, for once one he wasn't expecting, "thanks, Dad."

Blaise and Elena walked down the hall it was Elena's first quidditch practice back and she was super excited but Blaise knowing her well enough from last year knew she was nervous too and he was just trying to calm her down because having jitters while flying was never a good idea.

"Bloody hell," Blaise cursed as they caught up with the Slytherin team where Ron was trying to shoot a curse Nott's way before it backfired and hit him instead.

"What did you guys do?" Elena asked watching Ron buckle over his face shading in a faint blue before he threw up a slug making everyone cringe in disgust.

"He did it to himself" Nott blatantly laughed.

"It's true, 'Lena" Draco tilted his head giving her a sympathetic look before Elena handed him her broom and Blaise her books quickly grabbing hold of one of Ron's arms while Harry took the other.

"We need to take him to Hagrid's," Hermione said pity, disgust, and sympathy all flashing across her face.

"We're talking about this later, Nott" Elena angrily warned her tone dangerously low.

"Nothing to talk about" he called after her highly amused at the situation. "Come on, Eileen. He's not even worth the Pureblood sympathy you're showing him."

Elena whipped around her wand aimed at him, "Petrificus Totalus!" the spell shot Nott right in the chest his entire body stiffening before falling to the ground straight on his back hard.

"Snape!" Flint yelled, Elena's gaze snapping from Nott's to her Quidditch Captain her glare urging him to say something she didn't agree with.

An impressed smirk broke out onto the older boy's face, "nice one," he praised ignoring the judgmental looks getting thrown his way by the rest of Slytherin.

Elena dipped her head and when it came back up again she was smiling proudly, "thanks."

Blaise looked absolutely stunned into shock and Draco just shook his head a classic Malfoy smirk planted on his lips as he watched his best friend help drag Weasley away.

"This calls for a specialist's equipment" Hagrid announced handing Ron an enormous wooden bucket, "nothing to do but wait till it stops I'm afraid" Hagrid sighed taking a seat next to Elena as she watched her soon becoming friend's face pale betw...

"This calls for a specialist's equipment" Hagrid announced handing Ron an enormous wooden bucket, "nothing to do but wait till it stops I'm afraid" Hagrid sighed taking a seat next to Elena as she watched her soon becoming friend's face pale between blue and green shades.

"Who did Ron try and curse?" Elena asked.

"Nott, he called Hermione, well I don't exactly know what it means" Harry confessed as Hermione got to her feet facing away from them.

"He called me a mudblood," Hermione said crossing her arms.

"He did not" Hagrid gasped.

"Mione" Elena sighed.

"What's a mudblood?" Harry asked feeling totally lost in the conversation while Elena felt like hexing Nott to hell and back.

"It means dirty blood. Mudblood's a really foul name for someone who is muggle-born. Someone with non-magical parents. Someone like me" Hermione explained her voice raising and tears filling her brown eyes.

"Hey, that's not true you're more experienced in magic than him or me being muggle-born is an advantage, Mione, not a disadvantage... and you are no mudblood" Elena smiled getting up and pulling Hermione into a comforting hug.

"See, the thing is, Harry, there are some wizards, like the Nott's family who think they're better than everybody else because they're what people call pureblood," Hagrid said emphasizing the word 'pureblood'.

"Which is a stupid stereotype that their families build into every generation of kids they have. Purebloods think the wizarding world owes them something because of how they kept up their pureblood line status throughout the years sort of like royalty in the muggle world" Elena explained getting a grateful nod from Hagrid.

"That's horrible" Harry exclaimed as Ron threw up another slug.

"It's disgusting" he breathed out.

"And it's codswallop to boot" Hagrid stated. "Dirty blood, why there isn't a wizard alive today that's not half-blood or less" he added as Elena reassuringly rubbed Hermione's arms trying to make her feel better. "More to the point, they've yet to think of a spell our Hermione can't do," Hagrid stated proudly making a small smile appear on Hermione's face, "come here" he gestured. "Don't you think on it, Hermione," he said grabbing her little hands in his giant ones, "don't you think on it for one minute" Hermione gave a small nod already feeling better.

"Thank you, Hagrid" Hermione twisted around, "and you Elena" she smiled bringing Elena back into a hug she happily accepted, "I'm sorry" she whispered making the redhead jerk out of the hug confused by the apology.

"Why are you sorry, Mione?"

"Because Nott and the Slytherins are going to be on you for standing up for us" Hermione explained making Hagrid, Harry, and even Ron's eyes widen in realization.

"No, they won't" Elena shook her head, "not if they know what's good for them" she laughed bringing nervous smiles to their faces, "I know I'm a Slytherin and that I'm supposed to be stuck up and judgy and downright entitled... but that's not how I grew up, I'm freaking less than a half-blood and to hell, if a bunch of snakes are going to tell me who I can and can't be friends with" Elena stated proudly.

"That's the spirit, Elena" Hagrid praised.

"You guys are my friends, Harry's my brother and I always protect my friends and family no matter what," Elena said making Hagrid and Harry smile while Ron kept throwing slugs up before he gave a thumbs up agreeing with her point of view.

"Thanks, 'Lena" Hermione grinned.
