CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE
We're all in our dorm, including Molly, getting ready for Olympics day one.
Amanda told us to wear the red leotard with red eyeshadow. So here we all are in red leotards and red eyeshadow.
"Who else thinks this is to much red?" Caterina asks
"Me!" Jessica, Molly, and I say
"There's no such thing as to much red." Gabby replies simply
We finish up and quickly slip on our sweat suits.
"Who's team captain?" Molly asks
"Let's vote." Jessica suggests
We all agree and say that no one can vote for themselves. Gabby rips a price of paper into five pieces and hands them out while I pass out pencils.
Then we sit down and think about who to vote for.
Caterina's the oldest, Molly's the youngest, Gabby's the second oldest, and Jessica's my sister.
I finally decide on either Cat or Molly.
After a minute I see that Gabby and Jessica already put there votes on the table. I decide on Cat since she's the oldest. I write down Cat's name and put my paper on the table.
A minute later Caterina and Molly put their paper on the table.
"Sadie counts." Gabby says
Everyone agrees so I go to the table and I count the votes.
"Two for Molly and three for Cat." I say
"Thanks so much guys!" Cat tells us
We nod then all of us go down to the lobby to meet the boys and the coaches.
"Look who finally showed up!" Sam says playfully
"We had to vote on a team captain." Jessica explains
"Well who's the team captain?" Caden asks
"Cat." I say
"Congrats Cat." Isaiah tells her
"Thanks. Who's your guys team captain?" Cat asks
"We don't have one." William admits
"Isaiah or Caden's going to be the captain." Josh cuts in
"Ok, Isaiah. Caden. You can't vote because your vote will go to the other." Molly says
"Raise your hand for Isaiah." I say
Sam and William raise their hand.
"So Parker you vote for Caden?" I ask
"Yeah." he replies
"Team captain is Isaiah." I tell them
Isaiah smiles and hugs Cat since they're both the team captions.
"Caden is the boys co-captain and Molly is the girls co-captain." I add
Caden and Molly hug each other as well since they're both co-captains.
"Why's Molly co-captain?" Parker asks
"She was voted second for the girls. Now we got to go to the gymnasium or we'll be late." I say
So the men and women's USA gymnastics team and our coaches head to the gymnasium, which is a building with one beam, one vault, one set of bars, one table horse, and one floor.
The boys hurry over to the table horse while we hurry over to the beam. I'm first. I block out all the noise as I get called to go on the beam.
"We have Sadie Anderson from the USA." the middle judge says
Everyone's eyes are on me. The music starts and I mount the beam. I do my routine as good as I can.
"That was Sadie Anderson from the USA. Next is Jessica Anderson from the USA."
Jessica does really good, but stumbles on the landing.
"That was Jessica Anderson from the USA. Next is Molly Evans also from the USA."
Molly did really good, almost perfect.
"That was Molly Evans from the USA. Next is Gabby Douglas also from the USA."
Gabby's routine is flawless! She looked fearless!
"That was Gabby Douglas from the USA. Next is Caterina Force from the USA."
Cat's routine was perfect! Absolutely perfect!
"That was Caterina Force from the USA. Next is Ally Meadows from Canada."
We all did really good on the beam! Now we wait about an hour for the women gymnastics teams to be done on the beam for today.
