CHAPTER TWENTY
It's Friday, but we still have school. Once I get to school Mackenzie runs up to me and hugs me.
"I'm so sorry Sadie! I don't know what got into me yesterday!" she says
"It's ok. Just please don't let it happen again Kenz!" I say
"Ok! I love ya Sadie."
"I love ya too Kenz."
Just then Hunter comes up from behind me.
"Hey Sadie. I love you!"
"Hey Hunter. I love you too!"
We then walk to class. Ugh a sub.
*time skip after school*
Clayton's picking up Jack first so I have about ten minutes. I quickly text Mom.
{text messages 💬=mom 💭=me}
💭Hey Mom, can I pick up Brooke, David, and Connor?
💬How will you get to their school?
💭Walking.
💬Ok sure sweetie. Just have Jack go with you or Clayton drive you.
💭Ok, thanks Mom.
💬No problem Sadie. Love you
💭Love you too
{text messages over}
Just then Clayton pulls up. I climb in the back.
"Hey Jack?" I ask
"Yeah?"
"Mom said I can pick up Brooke, Connor, and David but you have to walk with me."
"Ok!"
"Why are you picking them up?" Clayton asks
"Because I want to."
"Really?"
"Ok fine. I want to talk to Miss Shea."
"Thought so. You walking?"
"Yeah. Unless you want to drive."
"Sure."
"Ok, thanks. That ok Jack?"
"Yeah."
"Ok."
Once we get home I pick out a purple leotard with matching shorts and the same for Brooke. I grab an apple and go watch TV with Jessica and Jack.
"Sadie! Jack! Let's go! Jessica you'll be ok alone?" Clayton says
"Yes! Don't worry!" Jessica says
"I need to do some homework. Sorry Sadie, but can I stay here with Jessica?" Jack asks
"Yeah. Come on Clayton!"
Once we get to the building Clayton parks and says I have fifteen minutes. I walk into the office.
"Hi Lisa! I'm here for Brooke, David, and Connor Anderson. Also could I speak with Miss Shea?"
"Sadie! Hi dear! Of course you can. I'll call down David and Connor. You can go get Brooke, she's in Miss Shea's class."
"Ok thank you Lisa."
I walk to Miss Shea's classroom and knock on the door. Miss Shea answers.
"I was told you were coming. What do you need?" Miss Shea asks while stepping into the hallway
"Well, you see yesterday Brooke came home crying and said that Asia, Kendall, and Nia don't want to be friends with her, so I was wondering if you set them up to being friends with her in the first place."
"I just asked them to look out for her. They must've taken it the wrong way. Brooke seems to of become friends with Payton and Riley today though."
"Ok, thank you."
"No problem. Bye Sadie"
"Bye Miss Shea."
I go back to the office and I soon as I get there Lisa calls Miss Shea to send down Brooke. Connor and David run over to me.
"Sadie! Sadie!" they say
"Hi Connor! Hi David!"
Just then Brooke walks in.
"Sadie!!" she says
"Brookie!" I reply
"Sadie? You need to sign them out now." Lisa reminds me
"Oh yeah, sorry I forgot."
I sign them out then walk outside who them to Clayton's car. They climb in the back while I get in the front.
"About time." Clayton says
"Sorry, I lost track of time."
"Forget about it Sadie."
"Ok?"
"So Brooke, David, Connor how was school?" Clayton asks
"Good, I played soccer at recess." David says
"Good, I tried basketball during recess. It's fun! Just not as fun as soccer." Connor says
"Good! I made two new friends! Payton and Riley." Brooke says
"Fun, fun, and awesome!" Clayton replies
We get home then and go inside. Brooke and I go get ready for practice.
