CHAPTER FOURTY-ONE
Clayton's point of view
Today's the day. After picking up Jessica, Sadie, and Jack, which gets annoying, I went to basketball practice.
After basketball practice I looked at my phone. Just enough time to take a shower and get to the gym. I run home and take a shower then head to the gym.
When I walk in I walk upstairs by Mom.
"What are you doing here?" she asks
"I came to watch my sisters for a little while" I reply
"Ok. I really have to get to work. Chloe and Paige will be done in about ten minutes then you're dad is picking up Brooke, Sadie, and Jessica. Do you mind taking Chloe and Paige home?"
"Of course not! Go ahead and go get ready for work! I'll take them home no problem!"
"Thanks Clayton! You're amazing!"
"No problem Mom."
"Well I got to go! Bye!"
"Bye!"
Chloe and Paige's class has about ten more minutes so I sit and watch them. Brianna sees me and waves so I wave back. The ten minutes go by quickly before I know it Chloe and Paige are in my lap.
"Ok Chloe Paige? Can you get dressed by yourselves?" I ask
"Yep!" they say in unison
"Ok, I'll be right back then." I say
I walk over to Brianna.
"Hey Brianna."
"Hey Clayton, I don't usually see you here!"
"I have to take Chloe and Paige home because my mom has to work. It's fun watching them though!"
"Yeah, they're improving a lot!"
"So I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date this Friday? Maybe to the movies?" I ask
"Like a date-date?"
"Sure?"
"O-ok"
"I'll pick you up around six?"
"Is seven thirty ok? I have to coach until six"
"Yeah that works"
"Ok, here's my address. I'll see you later bye!"
"Bye."
I walk back over to Chloe and Paige.
"Wow! You girls can get dressed by yourselves!" I say
"Yep!" they say in unison
"Do you want to watch Brooke, Sadie, and Jessica for a little while?"
"Yes!" they say again in unison
"Ok!" I say leading then over to the window where we can see Brooke.
We watch Brooke for about fifteen minutes then go over to watch Sadie and Jessica. After fifteen minutes we head home. As soon as we walk in the door Dad says, "Clayton Anderson! Get in the kitchen now!"
I go into the kitchen after putting Chloe and Paige on the couch.
"Yes?"
"You're mom told me you were taking Chloe and Paige home! You should've been here forty-five minutes ago! Why weren't you?"
"Chloe and Paige wanted to watch Brooke, Sadie, and Jessica so we watched them for a little while."
"Ok, well I'll ask them if that's true!"
"Chloe! Paige! Can you girls please come here?"
Chloe and Paige walk in a minute later.
"Yes?" they ask
"Did you stay later to watch Brooke, Sadie, and Jessica some?"
"Yes." they said in unison
"Ok, thank you."
They left the room to go play then my lecture started.
"Of how I understood it, as soon as they were done you were to bring them home! Also why were you at the gym in the first place?"
"I just wanted to watch my sisters practice a little and so I decided to stop by the gym."
"Ok, well go to you're room. I'll let you know when I leave because you are babysitting everyone ok?"
"Ok." I reply leaving the room
Great, he'll probably ground me from everything besides basketball. I might have to cancel with Brianna.
Soon enough Dad came back in.
"You're only punishment is to come straight home from basketball and to let us know where you are at all times ok?"
"Ok."
"Good, now I'm leaving. Make sure they behave ok?"
"Ok. Also Dad?"
"Yes?"
"I can go pick them up if you would like."
"Ok, but only because I'm in the middle of a really good show, but come straight home afterwards!"
"Yes sir!" I say while heading out to my car
I get to the gym and bump into Brianna.
"You're here again?" she asks
"I was sent to pick up Brooke, Sadie, and Jessica." I explained
"Ok, well I'll see you later. Bye."
"Bye." I say as I walk inside
Brooke's already waiting.
"Sadie and Jessica have five more minutes" she explained
"Ok."
"Also, I thought Dad picked us up from gymnastics when Mom couldn't"
"Dad sent me to."
"Ok."
Just then Jessica and Sadie walked in and gave me a hug.
"Clayton!" they said in unison
"Hi Sadie! Hi Jessi!" I replied
After about five minutes we were in the car on the way home. Once home we ate dinner then went off to do our own thing. Sadie followed me into my room.
"Yes?" I asked
"Why were you at the gym watching us? Mom was going to go into work late so I know you just showed up. Also don't pull the 'I just wanted to watch my sisters' crap." she replied
"I-I wanted to see Brianna."
"Why's that?"
"To ask her out on a date on Friday."
"What did she say?"
"Yes."
"Where are you going?"
"The movies! I'm picking her up at seven thirty! No more questions!"
"Ok, see you in the morning!" she said as she walked out of my room
