CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN
I follow Molly and Cat into the dorm where they're trying not to cry while Jessica and Gabby go talk to the judges.
"Molly?" I ask
"What?" She snaps clearly upset.
"It's going to be ok, Jessica and Gabby are telling the judges what happened and you might get to go."
"Really?"
"Yes! Now let's go! Cat, you too!"
They both follow me to where Jessica and Gabby are.
"Are you girls Caterina and Molly?" One judge asks
"Yes sir." They say
"Molly, would you like to compete on floor still?"
"Yes please!" Molly says
"You're on in five minutes then, get ready!" A second judge says
"Thanks you!" Molly replies going to get ready
Molly does flawless on her routine! It's amazing!
We all grab our sweatsuits then go over to awards.
"On bars bronze goes to Molly Evans from the USA, silver goes to Caterina Force from the USA, and gold goes to Gabby Douglas from the USA!"
All three of them run up and hug each other very excited. Get their medals and come back down.
"On beam bronze goes to Caterina Force from the USA, silver goes to Molly Evans from the USA, and gold goes to Gabby Douglas from the USA!"
All three run up again, get their medal and come back down. This is really their moment!
"On vault bronze goes to Caterina Force from the USA, silver goes to Gabby Douglas from the USA, and gold goes to Sadie Anderson from the USA!"
Oh my gosh! I got gold on vault! I run up to the podium with Cat and Gabby. I can't believe this is happening!
No one besides the USA has placed in the women's gymnastics individuals so far and we have four competing in floor!
"Now on floor, bronze goes to Jessica from the USA, now we had a triple tie for gold, but we managed to get it to be only two people. Silver goes to Molly Evans from the USA! Gold goes to Miss Gabby Douglas and Miss Caterina Force both from the USA!"
All four go up and receive their award, leaving me alone.
"Can we have Sadie Anderson up here?" Jessica asks and I walk up to the podium.
"We couldn't have done this without her!" Molly says referring to me.
"Thanks guys!" I say just before "Hall of Fame" by The Script starts playing.
"Now lastly, we have overalls!" The announcer starts, the song still playing, "Bronze goes to Mackenzie Scott from Canada, Silver goes to Caterina Force from the USA, and gold goes to Gabby Douglas from the USA! USA, you really do have some amazing gymnasts!"
Cat and Gabby go get their medals then we all go back to the dorm.
"We're all Olympic champions!" Cat exclaims
"It's had to believe!" Jessica and I say in unison.
"SELFIE!" Gabby screams taking out her phone as we all scramble to be in the picture.
We are the 2016 Olympic champions for women's gymnastics. This is never going to happen again.
"Guys? This might never happen again." I say
"What might not?" Jessica asks
"All five of us together in the same room. Yeah Jessica, Molly, and I will still be together. It just won't be the same without Gabby and Cat."
"I know what you mean Sadie, but we'll all hangout at least once every three months if we can!" Gabby says all of us agreeing
"We are the champions! The fierce five. We'll always be there for each other, together." Cat says and we all hug.
We are the champions.
