Once jonah left i continued to cry until i had to get ready
i quickly wipe my face and drive to Daniels house to pick him up
he gets in the car and says hi
i just smile back and drive away
"are you okay" he asks
"yup"
"no you're not"
"yes i am. i'm fine"

"Kylie i know you're upset what did your nasty boyfriend do"
"don't call him nasty"

"he didn't do anything okay daniel now stop"

we get to the competition and he walks away to the other people waiting to come in
i walk in the room and everyone's there except for Zach
"where's Zach?" i ask one of my team members
"he's not coming he has a date"
"wait so he's missing a competition for that. i need him, he's my partner"
"he told coach he was sick but we all know the truth. anyways we all figured you would be able to do it since you are the captain and at the top of our class"
"i mean i can but it's better with a partner"
"oh well."
"do you know who he's on the date with?"
"nope he didn't tell anyone. well good luck" she walks away and the judges walk in
i walk over to my section and wait for it to start
im extremely nervous which i always am but normally i would have zach with me
but tonight i don't which is scary
i can't even look out to the crowd and see Jonah or my parents there watching me
no ones here for me and i hate it
i mean i have daniel but he's not a parent, a boyfriend, or a best friend he's just a cousin
i love him but like i said it's not the same

i never shake with this but without Zach i am
they give me a problem and i go over to the board
when i get over there i can hardly even think
but i still have to show my team that i'm a good team captain so i try my hardest
i start to do the problem and my numbers aren't even straight they're all messed up cause of my shaking
i continue the problem but before i know it i'm feeling very lightheaded and i see all black
