The Prey

----Alex P.O.V----

"We just wanna talk....we know you can hear us!" I listen to One shouting and I slowly push my safety off waiting for the door to open.

"You think she is actually here?" Wyatt looks at me with an impatient glare.

"Just wait" Almost as soon as I said that the door opens and Beta steps out aiming at One and then quickly over at me.

"What is it that you want?, come to kill me for Rainy?" She looks at Wyatt then at me and One.

"No, we wanted to help you" I look her dead in the eye as I stand up and walk towards her.

"Stop!" Beta points the gun at my skull and I freeze.

"Listen, before you decide to kill me how about you listen to what I have to say?" I look at her with my eyebrows raised.

"Fine, you have three minutes" Beta doesn't put away her gun so I go ahead and start talking.

"Rainy sent us, she knows your here and she is giving you one last warning to give Jax up or she will find you....but we came here to tell you there is a way to get away from her" I start to feel tears knowing what this will mean if she does chose to go.

"What do you have in mind?" Beta looks a bit stunned and lowers her gun a bit.

"This map contains some things that will help you....there is a place called New Hope, it is a city that is heavily guarded and it is trying to rebuild what society used to be, only problem is it is very far away and there are alot of other groups out that way" I throw her the map and she takes a few seconds to look over it before looking back at me.

"Thanks....I don't know what to say" Beta looks at me and I see tears forming and I know I had just given her what anyone in this world wanted right now, hope.

"I will miss hanging out with you" I smile knowing she was going to be hard to replace as a friend.

"Yeah, One will keep you company though" Beta nods towards One and I turn around smiling at him.

"Yeah, where is Jax?" I look at Beta and she looks hesitant at first before opening the door and calling out his name.

I watch as Beta moves aside and Jax appears looking different from the last time I saw him during the battle. I looked him up and down and knew he was looking really weak, I noticed the bandage over the middle of his chest and I cringed knowing whatever happened couldn't have been good.

"You wanted to see me?" Jax looks at me and I nod.

"Yeah, you still my friend?" I look at him and he looks stunned before nodding.

"Yeah" He smiles and for the first time I see the old Jax.

I knew they would make it to New Hope, but what did it mean for the rest of us seeming we had just taken care of the biggest threat in the area and there were few infected around, does this mean life will be normal for once?

----Luna's P.O.V----

"What are they doing!?" I zoom in on Alex talking with Beta and Jax.

"Is it them?" Adonikah sits behind me looking at the many small houses.

"Yes, but there talking about something....wait Alex just hugged Beta and One is waving" I zoom in even more with the sniper scope that I was using as make shift binoculars.

"Luna do you read me?" Rainy talks over the radio which buzzes with static.

"Yes, there talking with them about something" I say it into the radio while I hand the sniper scope to Adonikah and she then looks while I back over to the far side of the room.
