chapter 18: concert

Tonight is the concert and I should be excited, but my mind kept going back to what I saw in that music room yesterday.

I groaned and mentally cursed at the thought of Tiana on top of Jesse, kissing him.

I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to do my morning routine. I walked to the kitchen and lucky me, there was a pile of ready-made pancakes waiting for me on a plate with syrup dripping down. Yum.

"Morning mom" I greeted.

"Morning son." she greeted back. "You excited for the concert tonight?"

"Mmhmm." I hummed in response before taking a bite of the pancakes. I smiled happily as my taste buds were sent into a frenzy by the deliciousness of it.

I checked my phone and noticed I received many messages from Jesse. They were mostly saying "I can explain." "Gray please listen to me." "I'm sorry." and stuff like that. I didn't bother reading nor responding to them. Instead I finished eating my pancakes and got ready for the day.

I got to the bus stop and noticed Daniel walking out. He seemed to noticed me and smiled before walking towards me.

"Morning Gray." he said with a grin stretching from ear to ear.

"Morning." I greeted back with less enthusiasm.

"How you doing? You excited for our date- i mean hang out?" he asked and chuckled nervously.

"Mm." I simply hummed, not really that excited at all.

"Anyway, I have to go, see you around." he said before walking in the opposite direction.

The bus then pulled up and i rolled my eyes at the thought of being in the same vicinity as Jesse, Tiana and Sasha.

I boarded the bus and walked over to my seat. As I walked past Tiana, she gave me an evil smile and I swear I probably would've slapped her or something if there wasn't people or anything. One day. I tell myself.

The bus arrives at school and everyone gets off. I walk into the building trying to get away from Tiana as she waits for Sasha's bus to arrive. Karma please deal with these bitches.

I decided to got to a different yet empty classroom so that if Jesse tries to find me in our home class I won't be there. I know hiding from him isn't ideal because I would have to face him eventually, especially coz we're both in this concert together but I just needed some space.

In that moment I thought I wouldn't be spotted by my friends and wouldn't have to let them see my blue mood but unfortunately, I was spotted.

One by one they all started walking into the empty class room and made their way to the back where I was sitting in the corner.

"Morning Gray." greeted Levona.

The rest of us all said our greetings.

"How come you're here instead of your home class?" asked Layyah.

I stayed silent for a while. There was no point in keeping what I had witnessed a secret because they would've found out eventually.

"Basically... I'm avoiding Jesse." I said and looked down at the floor.

"Why? What did he do?" asked Tony.

I then explained to then how I went with Jesse to the music room and how him and Tiana practiced together and the whole duet thing. And how I left for some fresh air and came back later and saw them kissing.

"WHAT THE ASS ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" shouted Levona in anger.

"If I get my hands on that little bastard I'm gonna kick him in the shins and rearrange his face." said Layyah.
