Still Jesse's POV:
I'm not sure if I should keep inviting Gray over to my house. My parents will eventually notice something. But you know what, fuck what my parents think, i love Gray and that's all that matters. Since it's almost his birthday, I should do something for him.
[Time skip to Gray's birthday]
Gray's POV:
Today is my birthday and the first thing I'm gonna do is sleep late because I want to. It's my birthday.
Unfortunately that wish didn't last long as my parents came barging into my room 3 minutes later.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR GRAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" they sing / shout in unison.
Just a few more minutes 😪
"Do y'all really have to scream?" I whine as I rub my eyes.
"Happy birthday son. You're officially 17 years old!" says my mom with such enthusiasm.
Wow I'm actually 17.
"Thanks guys." I say as I sit up.
Before I could say anything my parents shoved a wrapped gift in hands, startling me.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Open and see." says my dad.
I looked like it could be a book. Oh yay a book, I need new books to read. I slowly tear away at the wrapping paper and when my eyes notice the pink under the wrapping paper, my eyes grow huge.
"AN ACTUAL MAP OF THE SOUL PERSONA ALBUM AHHHH." I screamed. This wasn't my first time getting an album, I have from wings all the way to mots: persona but I still get so happy when I get one.
"Thank you guys so so much." I say as I get up and hug my parents.
"There's something else in the wrapping." said my dad.
I looked to see what it was and omg a WHOLE R500! Ddaeng.
"That money can go towards getting the new map of the soul: 7 album that's coming out soon." said my mom. Best. Parents. Ever.
"Thank you guys!" I shout as I hug them a second time.
"Now, get done for school, you gonna be late if you don't hurry up." says my dad as he gets up.
"How about I stay home today?" I ask with a big and expecting smile on my face.
"Not happening." says my mom as she too gets up.
Oh well it was worth a try.
They leave my room and I start getting ready for the day. At least it's Friday today. Yay the weekend!
I unexpectedly get a text from Daniel as I come back from the bathroom.

Don't ask about the toilet, it's an inside thing.
