Susanna's POV

I've never really worked together with other people very much on Song writing. I have to admit though, Joey and I do make a pretty good team. As songwriters, I mean. Things are still a little odd between us, after the whole misunderstanding. I think we'll be back to normal soon though. Everyone's off doing their own thing for Thanksgiving. So I'm here at the apartment, video chatting with my family and friends in turn.

I am thankful for my life. Back home, I have a wonderful family and good friends. And here in Nashville, which is now like a second home to me, I've got lots of new friends. And Joey. Whatever you would call us.

It's kind of hard for me to believe that I've been here almost two months now. I think the guys are up to something. The get super secretive sometimes and whenever I come around they scatter or change the subject. Chad let the word, "tour" slip the other day. Are they planning on going on tour soon, and are afraid I'll beg to go with them? I wouldn't do that. Okay, maybe inside I would be... but just a little.

I'm looking forward to Christmas getting here. I've made plans with Joey and his brother, Donald to ride back home with them. They'll drop me off in Kentucky and I'll spend a week or so with my family. While they head up to Ohio to be with their parents. I'm going to drive my own car back here to Nashville. That will be a relief, that I won't be having to beg rides off everybody anymore.

I've finished with my video chats so I decide to turn on some Christmas music and fix my Christmas cards. I bought some really pretty ones this year, with Scripture and neat sayings inside each.

Before I'm even halfway through my little cheery chore, there's a knock at the door. I tiptoe over and look through the peep hole to find Madison's uncle Jake on the other side of the door. I open the door a little, "Jake. I'm sorry. Madison is having dinner with Max's family. I thought she told you."

Jake held up the two bags in his hands, "Yeah. She told me  sure enough. I just thought you might want some vitles yourself. I've been helping out down at the homeless shelter today, and we get to bring home a meal, so there was enough and I brought you one too."

I didn't want to admit it, but I was happy to have the company. It felt a little lonely, but with ol' Jake telling stories from his adventures during his life, I didn't feel so bad.

Joey's POV

Both of my brothers and me met up with Mom and Dad back home in Ohio. I have to say, I really love my folks. We all can act a little crazy sometimes, but when it comes right down to it we always stand strong for each other.

My mom, Jeannie Stamper, the same woman who sent me a video of her singing happy birthday to me with a helium filled voice is staring at me right now. The woman can read me like a book. "Joey. What's her name?" Seriously this woman, never ceases to amaze me.

"Her name is Susanna." Trust me after twenty-four years I know it's no use beating around the bush with her. "Pretty sure, I've told you about her."

"You have. But what are you leaving out?" Mom says with a soft look.

"I don't know. She seems different from every other girl that I've ever met." We discuss Susanna for a least the next thirty minutes, when Donald sticks his head in the room and saying something about the game. Mom's left me with a lot to think about.

Author's Note

I wrote this chapter the day before Thanksgiving while writing Christmas cards out. Also it was fun getting to write in a little with Joey's mom. From what I've seen of her posts and comments and such online she sounds like a pretty awesome woman, just like her son, Joey.
