Susanna's POV
I could hardly believe it. Not only was I hanging out in Nashville with the Joey Stamper, which would have made any girl burst with happiness. But I was going to meet the rest of the Anthem Lights guys too, it was any Lightbulbs dream come true. This felt far too good to be true. I pinched myself under the table as Joey told me about their studio. I might have pinched too hard because... Well I let out a small yelp and Joey and several others just stared at me. "Um... I had a pain. No big deal. You were saying?" I seriously needed to get myself under control, no time for fangirling right now.
Joey looked at me with those amazing blue eyes of his and said, "Well. I'd better get going. You can come by the studio or I can come pick you up, sometime. You know, today or tomorrow, or whenever."
"I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world." I said with a bashful smile. "Would now be too soon?"
Joey checked time on the wall clock, "Na, sounds cool. The guys should all be back at the studio right now."
Joey had just walked here with Caleb and Kelsey, cause it was such a nice day, so we just walked back to the studio together. With him, even just walking seemed to go faster, because before I knew it we had arrived where the guys have their studio.
We went in and even though it wasn't as big as some places might be it was amazing. I walked over to the sound proof room where the actual recording went on. I looked at Joey, "That's amazing! Is it fun? Especially sniffing the mic?" I cast him a glance and a smirk, wondering if he'd get my little joke.
"Yes the mic smells great! And towels are so warm!" He said with a laughing eye roll.
"Stuff Joey says!" A tall, well built guy, who I recognized (after he was no longer a blur) to be Chad Graham, said as he tackled Joey from around the corner. "Our wittle Joey! He's a twitter star."
"Welcome to my life, Susanna." Joey said with a laugh after he managed to get out of Chad's bear hug. Alan and Caleb were in the next room, we entered which was a kitchen area, and I noticed both of them shoot each other and Chad looks. I wonder what all that was about. "Alan, Caleb...Chad. This is Susanna Stephens she just got to Nashville last night. Susanna, I think you already know the guys' names."
"Yeah. Hi everybody. Anthem Lights is awesome by the way, my favorite band. Love your message." I said trying to remain calm and cool, but happy. Boy, this was hard.
Joey's POV
I hope the guys were going to be okay with my idea. I wanted to help Susanna get a good start on her career. She had talent, but I'd have to talk my idea over with the others first. I watched as each of the others came up and shook her hand.
The first was Alan, "Hey, Susanna. I'm Alan Powell. Nice to meet you. Joey told us about meeting you yesterday." He glanced at me, and I fought back a groan.
I noticed Susanna blush and fiddle with her glasses. I'd saw her do that a couple times now. Nervous, maybe? She smiled and politely answered him back. Caleb came up to her next, "I think me and my wife saw you at the diner this morning, you sounded good up there with our song."
Finally it was Chad's turn. He shook her hand and said. "You shoulda got him with with your spray, that would have been funny." He laughed his big laugh, and shook me by my shoulders. "I'm kidding, bro."
"It's awesome getting to meet you all. A dream come true, really. And I'm really excited to be here in Nashville." She smiled and I recognized the starry look in her eyes and the bouncing her feet did, I don't know why but I couldn't stand the thought of seeing her dreams get crushed out there on her own.
Alan shot me another one of those looks, "Hey, Joey. Why don't you give Susanna, here a tour."
I nodded, we'd talk about the weird way the guys were acting later. "Sure thing. Come on, Susanna." At least they all seemed to like her.
