Chapter Thirty Seven (The Tour Begins...)

FIRST STOP.... LEXINGTON, KY!

Susanna's POV

"ON the road again!!!" Joey sings out at the top of his lungs. He gets Chad and Caleb to join in with him on the old Willie Nelson song. Alan tries but is laughing too hard. Me, Jamie, and Kelsey are getting some pretty good laughs in too. The restaurant employee changing out the trash can, however, is looking at our table, with three guys holding there noses and singing (to get that just right Willie Nelson voice) and the rest of us laughing uncontrollably, like we have all just escaped the Looney bin. Jokes on her, they've never caught us yet. Haha.

The boys in the Chosen group are going to be joining us tonight, I've never met them. But I am looking forward to it. Really, the whole tour for that matter. Right now we are all hanging out and eating breakfast. Alan came up with a plan to keep everybody from fussing about food... or well... at least make it a little easier. We are on a rotating schedule, each person gets to pick a meal of a day in sequence. Thankfully he has it written down... and hidden somewhere that way no one messes with it. This morning is the first meal of the tour. And as the newbie, Alan gave me the privilege of first choice. I chose Hardee's, my favorite breakfast place. Everybody seemed to take it well enough. This whole schedule thing, might actually work out.

We all finished up eating and got up, leaving to get on the two buses. They guys all went to there's and Jamie, Kelsey and I got on our bus together. I can guarantee our bus will be the more peaceful of the two. Our first stop is close to home for me, tonight we are due in Lexington, KY.

Joey caught me just before I got on the bus. He pulled me close and whispered, in my ear. "I've got a surprise for you tomorrow, Sus. I think you'll really love it." He gave me a knee melting, mysterious smile and ran off to hop on the "boy" bus.

Me and the other two girls get on our bus and get settled in. Uncle Jake is actually going to be our driver, so we don't have to worry about anything. We all relax and stretch out on the couch setup on the bus, and just have fun girl chats. We all three love Disney movies and princesses, so we discuss what movies to watch. Together we have quiet a few DVD's with us, (not all Disney and/or princess movies though) so we should have a blast.

~A Few Hours Later~

Oh boy. I think I'm going to be sick. Maybe coming on the tour was a bad idea. I don't know if I can do this. We are already at the venue, and are getting ready for in about an hour to start it up. Is it too late to drop out?

Alan walks into the room and concern fills his eyes when he sees me, in a fettle position and let's just say my face feels like it would be an ugly green color. "What's wrong, Susanna?" He sits down at the other end of the couch.

"I'm fi.." I stop, shaking my head, "No, that would be a lie. Alan, I don't know if I can do this. I'm not professionally trained or anything. My voice. My look. It's just..."

Alan gives me a look that silences me. He is incredibly good at that. "Susanna, don't down yourself. Is this God wants for you?"

In stark clarity, what happened when I was unconscious after the accident comes back to me. I relive it again. I close my eyes and let the tears flow down my cheeks. "Your right, Alan." That's all I could manage. I notice he's slipping his cell phone, back into his Jean pocket.

Before I can question why. Caleb, Chad and then Joey come into the room and Alan stands. They stand together and I start crying again as they start singing, "Follow Your Heart". Collapsing onto my knees, I start praying. These four men, that I'm blessed to call my dear friends finish up the song. I feel hands on my shoulders, and when I open my eyes after finishing my prayer I find that they are surrounding me, hunkered down on their knees right beside me, prayers moving their lips silently shooting straight up to God.
