Return of the Lost

Chapter 4 - It can't be

Nala has woken up to a grumble in her stomach. She has trekked the whole desert with her daughter and son, one of his friend and two rogue lions. She decided to survey her surroundings and noticed that her children weren't with her. She began to panic, "Kion! Kiara! Where are you?" She said it quite loud that the two rogue lions were now staring at her.

"Don't worry. We'll find them for you." The older of the two said. She decided to calm down and stand up to follow the two.

"You still haven't told me who you were." Nala sounded desperate and was.

"We'll explain on the way and what has happened." This made Nala confused but she let it slide. Deep in her mind she thought 'What does he mean what has happened? Why do they look familiar?' These two questions whizzed in the back of her mind.

The three of them have been walking for some time now and they still haven't found Kiara nor Kion. It was uncomfortably quiet and Nala was scared. 'Where are my kids? What did the two rogues mean when they said that the'll tell her what happened?' A voice then interrupted her thoughts.

The older one of the two decided to speak. "How have things been back at Priderock during Scar's reign?" Then it hit her.

"Who's Scar?" The teen lion questioned. "All I know is that my dad is king there and I'm next." Nala took a step back in shock. It couldn't be... Could it?

"No! No no no no no. I must be dead. How are you both alive?!" Nala walked around in circles when the older rogue came and nuzzled her.

"We'll explain how we survived. After Scar tried to kill me, I immediately fled here. My injuries weren't too severe and he had no idea that I left."

"After Zira injured me, she left me in the Outlands to die alone but after that I was found a few minutes after." The three of them continued their journey through the jungle while talking about what has happened.

In another part of the jungle, Kiara, Kion and the rest of his guard are exploring. This was exciting for them but they eventually became lost. Ono couldn't find the starting point and Fuli couldn't run through due to all the trees. The siblings knew that they are going to get into trouble by Nala and if they don't do anything, they will be in a ton of trouble. "This is scary. I want to leave!" Kiara whined as Kion nuzzled her.

"Don't worry. We'll soon find mum." Kion assured her. He turned towards his guard who then gave a nod in agreement. Kiara smiled back at Kion.

The group continued going in one direction and then they decided to have a break. Beshte and Bunga laid beside a tree. Ono was perched on top of another tree and Fuli, Kion and Kiara laid together and spoke. "So, what are you planing on doing?" Fuli decided to question the two.

"I have absolutely no idea now. We could live out here forever but we don't know if there would be enough food for all of us." Kiara decided to answer "I am going to go and scout the area now. do you want to come?" The two guard members stood up and followed her. They then hid behind a bush so they can remain out of sight.

The brown lion had the thing settled in his cave. He had questions to why it was there so he decided to go out for a stroll.

It was pretty peaceful for him since there were no animals bothering him until he heard a small rustle from the bush. His attention turned towards it and he decided to approach it. At first he thought it was a small rodent but a golden lion cub came jumping out. As soon as the cub saw him, he went into a defensive stance. A cheetah and a creamy coloured cub then cam out from the same bush. The cheetah immediately saw him and too went into a defensive position in front of the lion cub. The brown lion was looking over at the gold lion and the cheetah then noticed a mark on the side. He was shocked to see it. "Hello there. Are you from the Pridelands?" The brown lion questioned the three young ones. The lion and cheetah dropped their defence and gave him a confused look.

"Uhhh ye... wait, how did you know?" The creamy cub answered.

He turned his attention to the golden lion and the cheetah. "Are you two part of the lion guard?" The two of them nodded before the golden lion spoke.

"I'm Kion, this is Fuli and that is Kiara. Who are you? How do you know where we live and how do you know about the guard that I'm in?" Kion stood back a bit in cautious.

"Oh. I'm Taka. The reason why I know about the guard is because I used to be in it."

"What happened?" Kiara questioned.

Taka knew what happened. If he were to tell then the lion and cheetah could kill him. "That is for another time ok? How about we go back to my place so you rest up?" The four of them then started walking back to Taka's den.

Bunga has finally woken up from his nap. He looked around and noticed that Kion, Kiara and Fuli weren't with them. He immediately slid off Beshte who too started waking up. "What's the problem Little B?"

Ono perched himself onto Beshte's head. "It is the others. They're gone."

"Well, let's go look for them then." Bunga said as he started walking away.
