Hunter's POV

As I pulled my mother into a hug I whispered in her ear, "Be nice, she's really nervous." My mother simply nods at me before I got to hug my dad then my sisters.

"I'd like you all to meet Katie and her family." I say basically to call them over to us, and they to got the memo and walked over. I could feel the nerves radiate off of her as she stood beside me. I don't think I realized how short Katie is, I mean I know she's short, but standing next to me and my family and even hers she's the shortest person in the room.

My mother looked down on her easily which in my opinion is making Katie even more nervous. "Katie this is my mother Dinah and my father Logan. These two ugly things are my sisters; Caroline and Rachel." I introduced.

"The only ugly one here is you." Rachel sassed and I ignore her side comment. She was always the sister willing to argue with me.

"Hi. Nice to meet you." Katie says politely before turning to her family. "This is my mother Naomi, and my brother Shane and my sister Cameron."

"Yes, Shane I know." My mother comments. "Nice seeing you again." She says to Shane pulling him into a hug, she always liked him. She usually told me when she didn't like my friends, because of her constantly needing to state her opinion, but she always told me when liked them too, and Shane she liked.

"You too, Mrs. H."

"Nice to meet you." My mother says to Naomi and the two shake heads before Naomi moves on the shaking heads with my father then eventually all my sisters.

Right now currently everyone was just introducing themselves. For Katie and her family I already knew everyone expect for her mother so the introduction wasn't nearly as long as this one. "Brother you're cooking!" My sister Caroline exclaims from inside the question. I didn't even see her walk past me. "Yeah." I respond back.

I see Katie and my mother talking and I could only wondering what about. So I walked over there. "What are you long term plans Katie? Are you planning on continuing to live off of my son even when the baby is born? Are you going to-" I overhear her saying as I walk up to them but I quickly intervene before my mother could say anything else.

"Mom, can we have dinner first Geez?"

My mother looks to me and roll her eyes. "I'm trying to have a conversation with Katie. One that doesn't involve you."

I'm about to respond when Katie does before me. "I'd just like to say, I am not living off of your son. I have my own job, I have my own income, and with all do respect, your son asked me to move in with him not the other way around. So if you'd excuse me." With that said Katie walked away and I simply glare at my mother.

"Mom, what was that?" I ask and she shrug not seeing anything wrong and what she said. "I was simply asking her a question. It's not my fault the poor girl got upset."

I roll my eyes at her and walk away, she was unbelievable. Katie was sitting at the table as I walked passed I leaned down and whispered in her ear, "I'm sorry."

Katie looks up at me and gives me a warm smile. "It's okay, she's just being protective of her youngest child." She responds and I smile.

"Wanna help me with the food?" I ask and Katie nods. I grab her hand helping her to her feet and the two of us walk over to the stove, where the food was cooked. "What did you make?" Katie asked and I smile open the oven so she could see.

"Enchiladas. For my little Latina or Latino." I says referring to our baby. I wanted to make something that shows that I know that our baby will be Hispanic, because Katie is Hispanic, and plus I wanted to make a good impression on Katie's mom. "You made Enchiladas?!" Katie gushes as I grab an oven mitt so I can take the pan out with burning myself.
