Hunter's POV
I hear the elevator door ding and I immediately assume it was Katie. "Did you leave something?" I shout out only to get a respond from a voice I knew wasn't Katie's. "No, I don't think so. Were you expecting somebody?"
I look up to see my mother Dinah walking towards me. "Mom?" I ask confused as to way she was here, and she roll her eyes. "Aren't you going to give me a hug?" She ask and I quickly stand to my feet and walk towards her.
I pull her into a hug and she kisses my cheek before we pull away. "I've missed you boy." She says now wiping the lipstick from my face. "I've missed you too mom." I respond and she rolls her eyes.
"I sure can't tell. You haven't called me." She comments walking to my couch and taking a seat. I sat a seat beside her. "I've been meaning to." I respond and she rolls her eyes.
"Yeah whatever."
"So, why are you here?" I ask and she looks at me taken back. "I can't stop by to see my son? Even though it should be him stopping by to see me."
I laugh, "I didn't mean it like that." I reassure and she rolls her eyes at me again. My mother loved to roll her eyes, she didn't have a poker face for nothing. She's blunt, and will always state her opinion no matter if she thought it would hurt you or was simply unnecessary. She always had to say something, and that's one of the things I loved about her, she always keeps it honest with me.
"So, what's been going on?" She ask sitting back into the couch. That's another thing about my mother, she can always sense when something is up. It's funny how right now out of all the times for us to just talk, it's during at time when something is actually going on with me. I guess now was the perfect time as any to tell her, especially before the dinner and everything since Katie wanted to do it that way.
I sigh deeply and look her deep into her eyes. "I got a girl pregnant." Before I could even blink I was already getting smacked on the back of my head. "Ow!" I exclaim even though it didn't hurt, it was just the fact that she hit me.
"Pregnant?!" She exclaims and I instantly flinch away from her. "Don't hit me again!"
She roll her eyes at me. "I should but I won't. Hunter who did you get pregnant. I know you weren't seeing anybody so it happened on accident." She says as if she knows my life like that. Another thing about my mom, you couldn't tell her anything even if she was wrong. She always thinks she's right.
"It's Katherine, Shane's sister." I respond and my mom raises her hand again and I quickly grab it. "Why are you abusing me?! I'm a grown man?" I ask my mother and she yanks away from my grip. "I don't care!" She exclaims hitting me in my thigh.
"Shane's sister really Hunter? You're both so young. What are you going to do with a baby?" She ask and I shrug.
"Be parents." I respond and she glares at me because of my smart comment.
"I'm serious Hunt." She says sternly and I sigh, because I know she was, so especially when she speaks to me in that tone.
"I know, but so am I. What else can I do? She's pregnant with my baby, mom."
Mother sighs and crosses her legs, "You sure it's your baby?" She ask and I crook my head at her. "Mom." I simply say and she holds her hands up in surrender.
"I was just asking." She defends. "So, what are you seriously gonna do now?" She ask and I shrug. I was honestly just winging this whole thing. I don't know anything about pregnancies and babies. I was still trying figure everything out myself. "That's it?" My mother ask and I honestly don't know what to say.
