Ghost was practically dragging adder towards the small cabin, the sun was beginning to set casting an orange glow over the sky. He held his left arm tightly around her waist his right hand holding her left arm around his shoulders.
As adder walked she was shivering uncontrollably, stumbling every so often due to not being able to feel her frozen feet, ghosts quick pace didn't help either. She began to question her sanity.
Ghost became more worried about the Sargent as she began mumbling about something. It was lost in the harsh wind as she spoke.
"I'm sorry" he finally made out her words, he looked over checking the girl over, now dragging her through the snow.
"Don't be sorry it's not your fault" he spoke softly her icy hair falling rigid in-front of her face.
She saw them, they appeared from the snow, the pearly flesh blending in with the white blanket on the floor, they staggered towards her. Their arms held out as their lifeless eyes stared into her own.
No their dead!
They were groaning something as they approached, adders eyes watched as her fallen team walked closer.
"You" the one she remembered as nick groaned, he stumbled closer to adder. His black hair a mess with bald patches dotted around where his hair had fallen out, as he spoke blood flowed from his throat staining the snow below him. His flesh was beginning to rot and fall from his face.
Adder screamed loudly pushing her body away from ghosts secure grip. She stumbled backwards falling into the snow. She frantically began shuffling backwards trying to get away from Nick as he walked towards her.
"You could have saved us!" He spoke his the blood bubbling from his throat distorting his voice.
"I'm sorry..! I didn't know! Nick please I didn't know!" Adder screamed. Ghost rushed to her side, trying to help the girl. He knew the hypothermia was bad, she was clearly now having hallucinations. If he didn't get her to the cabin quick she would die.
"Adder it's me" ghost spoke trying to bring the Sargent back to reality. Adder closed her eyes tightly hoping to make Nick disappear along with the other soldiers that once made up Charlie team.
"Addy it's me...it's Simon" he spoke taking her face into his hands, his thumb gently running along her cheek in a bid to pull her back to reality.
"S-Simon?" She questioned, her hands gripping his wrists as they held her face. She looked around the woods that surrounded them, the small cabin just out of view. There was no nick, no blood, no Charlie team.
Adder sighed, closing her eyes and shaking her head, she began shivering again her teeth chattering as she rose to her feet with ghosts help.
"Come on we need to get you inside" ghost spoke as he returned her arm around his shoulder and walked them to the cabin.
The cabin was small, one bedroom with a double bed against one of the walls and a sofa opposite. There was a small lounge with another sofa and an armchair opposite. A small dinning area and a dingy kitchen.
Ghost led adder over to one of the small wooden dinning room chairs around the table kicking the door shut roughly. Adder pulled ghosts now wet coat around her freezing body, she rubbed her arms trying to get some friction.
"Fucking Russians" ghost mumbled looking over the old bricked up fire place. He shook his head, whoever's fucking cabin this was obviously didn't use it in the winter. Ghost turned his attention back to adder watching the Sargent become a shivering mess in-front of him.
"Price?" Ghost spoke through coms standing and walking back towards the Sargent. The only answer Ghost got was static filling his ears. He sighed heavily crouching down in-front of the Sargent.
"Adder I know it's cold. But you need to get out of these wet clothes." He spoke his hands resting on her knees as he squatted in-front of her. The water from her trousers soaking his hands. Adder nodded weakly her eyes tightly shut. Her teeth continued to chatter, her breathing heavy.
Ghost gently peeled the heavy wet jacket off of adders small body, her grey t-shirt now saturated black with water. Ghost threw the jacket somewhere in the cabin, it hit the wooden floor with a thud. He gently touched the hem of adders long sleeve top, her body shaking, her eyes closed once more.
He gently lifted the top from the girls body, throwing it to where the jacket laid. The Sargent let out a steady breath trying to calm her body's reaction to the cold air. Her body erupted in goose pimples as the cool breeze brushed over her wet skin. Ghost stood quickly pulling his top over his head, his body subconsciously flexed now being exposed to the bitter cold in all its glory.
"You need to take that bra off and put this on" Ghost handed the girl his top before turning his back to her. Adder noticed the scars that littered his back, from small tiny scars to bigger ones. She quickly removed her bra throwing it with the rest of her wet clothes before speaking.
"O-okay"she shivered. Ghost turned back around to see his top hanging from the girl, it came to her mid thigh, the long sleeves dangled from her hands covering them from view.
"Warmer?" Ghost questioned standing the Sargent up infront of him. The warmth of ghosts top wrapped it's self around adder, his aftershave attacking her senses intoxicating her. It was warm and comforting. Adder nodded smiling slightly.
"Now come on you need to get the rest of these wet clothes off. Adder began unbuckling the dark belt that held her wet trousers up as ghost disappeared into one of the small rooms off the side of the cabin. One which adder assumed was a bathroom.
He returned a few moments later, adders trousers thrown into the pile of wet clothes. He held out his hand holding some black fabric.
"Here put these on" adder took the fabric unfolding them noticing they were black boxers. Was Simon really giving her his underwear.
"Instead of your wet ones" he turned around as adder quickly pulled down her underwear replacing the wet garments with Simon's dry ones. She cleared her throat causing Simon to turn back and look at the girl.
"Warmer?" He chuckled, adder shook her head chuckling slightly, rubbing her arms once more this time out of feeling extremely awkward, she was alone with the lieutenant, no one was coming till morning.
Thoughts raced through adders mind as she watch Simon, he lifted his mask revealing his sharp clean shaven jaw and held out a pack of cigarettes for adder to take one.
She took one, her hand shaking slightly as ghost helped her to light it, he took one for himself lighting the stick and sat on the sofa next to her.
"You should try and get some sleep. There's a bed through there" ghost nodded his head in the direction of the small make shift bedroom in the cabin. Adder nodded, her lungs struggled to allow her to smoke anyway.
"Thank you... for you clothes Simon" she spoke standing up ready to head to bed, Simon waved his hand dismissively turning his attention to the Sargent.
"Don't mention it" he finally spoke watching as adder shuffled her way into the bedroom closing the door softly behind her. He let out a heavy sigh leaning back into the cold sofa.
It. was. fucking. freezing
