I stare at the message in shock and slowly start typing my response.
Y/N Good afternoon Officer Hamilton. Thank you so much for reporting to me. How long will his trial go for? Also, what do you mean by the main victim?
Officer Hamilton His trial will last for a few days as we want to get his case out of court quickly and you will have to attend every court hearing. Your child will have to come along as well as we will be doing a DNA test to confirm that he is Brayden's child. I also say the main victim because we had other people come forward after his arrest saying that they have been sexually assaulted by him.
Y/N That's okay, however, I'm leaving the country in a few days and will only be back in Australia for a short period of time before I most likely leave again so I was just making sure. I don't know if you can answer this because of confidentiality but are there any other children?
Officer Hamilton No, there is not. Your child is the only one, thankfully.
Y/N Okay, thank you, Officer Hamilton, for telling me.
Officer Hamilton You will receive further details about the court hearing through Email within the next week. Thank you.
I turn off my phone and sit on the bed, stunned.
"Felix," I whisper, barely able to hear myself.
"Yeah Y/N?" He questions, turning to me.
I sit there for a moment.
"They caught Brayden, his trial should be next week some time for a few days. I get the details for the court hearings in the next week." I state in a dazed manner.
"What! Are you serious? They did pretty well, with it being two weeks since you made the report."
"Yeah, I also found out that he has sexually assaulted others and they also reported him."
"Wow, was not expecting that."
I start crying happy tears. I am so happy that Brayden will most likely get locked up for the shit he's done.
I look at Felix and gently kiss him.
Felix looks at me after separating, "I think I'm comfortable with kissing again Felix. I know you're not going to hurt me and Brayden will most likely go to juvy or prison so I don't have to worry about him anymore."
"That's good Y/N." he kisses me again. I honestly missed it more than I realised.
"We have to tell the guys, that was a crazy 40 minutes of messaging. Gosh, Yasmin is in labour, Stay is starting to like us again because of our somewhat poor parenting skills and Brayden was arrested." I state.
