Six months had passed. Six long months for Joe. He didn't stop thinking about his girl once. They called, messages and skyped each other most days but it just wasn't the same. Joe was pacing round the living room nervously, making sure he had done everything necessary. Dianne was heading straight back to his flat via the tour bus which was good for Joe as he didn't need to go and collect her.
Suddenly Joe's phone lit up with a new notification. It was from Dianne.
"landed about 20 minutes ago, just got through passport control. Should be home in the next hour. I can't wait to see you! Xx"
Joe smiled to himself replying saying. "Ok Dotty, keep me updated. I can't wait to see your beautiful smile again! Xxx"
Joe was surprised as to why he was so nervous. Would everything be the same as before? Would she still love him as much? There was no doubt in Joe's mind that he loved Dianne but he was just worried that the relationship wouldn't fall back into place.
It was coming close to 10pm and Joe had got a text from Dianne around 15 minutes ago letting him know they were on the coach so she'd be home before 11. He went upstairs and made sure the bed was made neatly and the room was clean and tidy for her arrival. Now all he could do was sit and wait.

Joe was starting to drop off asleep when he heard a little knock at the apartment door. His eyes opened widely and he smiled as he composed himself to open the door. He slowly plodded over to the door to reveal his beautiful girlfriend stood in the doorway. She instantly dropped her case and threw herself at him, engulfing him in a big bear hug. He had missed her sweet scent so much. Joe's nerves instantly faded into pure happiness.
"I've missed you so much Joey!" She said tearfully into his chest.
She pulled away and they just looked at each other in the eyes. Joe was instantly reminded by her pretty smile of what he had truly missed. She stepped into the apartment, still holding onto Joe and he closed the door. Joe leaned forwards and placed a kiss onto her soft, delicate lips.
Time had passed and they were now cuddled up on the couch, making up for the six months they'd spent apart.
"So tell me everything about it." Joe said to his girlfriend who he well and truly missed.
She settled down and put her feet on top of his knees and began to ramble on a load of nonsense. That's what Joe had missed the most. She recounted all the special moments and memories she had from travelling the world, one of them specifically leaving them in fits of laughter. This is what she'd missed, having her amazing boyfriend sat with her laughing until there were tears.
"Are you not tired?" He asked. "You've been all over the world, is your body clock messed up?" He said stroking her red roots.
"I don't really know to be honest. I managed to sleep on the plane for a bit so i'm not too tired now however, tomorrow is going to be a different story." She laughed.
"I'm going to be like an owl, fast asleep in the day but wide awake in the night!" She giggled.
"Just wake me up, I don't mind sweetheart. I've missed you so much it's unreal."
Dianne nodded and snuggled down deeper into his chest. Immediately, Joe had wished they'd gone straight up to bed because she had soon enough fallen asleep on him. He just smiled to himself knowing how stubborn his girl was, saying she wasn't tired one minute and the next she's flat out asleep.
"Dotty. Dot. I think we should go to bed beautiful, don't you?" He said gently stroking her soft cheek.
She let out a small groan, so he scooped her up in a bridal hold and carried her upstairs to bed, deciding to leave all her luggage for the morning. He gently lay her down on the bed and just took off her socks as she was already in her comfys anyway. He placed her under the duvet and not long after he jumped in next to her. Oh how much he'd miss sharing a bed with this girl. She immediately gravitated towards him and had her head on his bare chest again. Joe didn't realise that his own eyes began to droop and soon enough they were both peacefully sleeping.

It was around 4 am and Dianne had woken up due to her uncontrollable jet lag. She didn't want to wake Joe so, she carefully peeled herself away from him and headed down the stairs to the kitchen. Reaching up for a glass, Dianne sneezed. She froze. Did she wake Joe? Let's hope not. She carried with getting her drink and then went over to the couch and sat down.
Joe heard a small noise. Realising that the bed was cold next to him he knew it was Dianne up and awake. He got up, put on his dressing down and headed downstairs. Joe peeped his head round the doorframe to see the sweetest thing ever. His girl who had fallen back asleep with the tv remote in her hand.
He got a throw from the basket and placed it over them both, whispering "I love you" in her ear. She snuggled down closer to her man, the one she loved ever so much.
