It was 3am and Dianne took a deep shaky breathe and leant back from the unfamiliar toilet in the campsite. Her and Joe had been staying at a campsite in their campervan Chippy, somewhere in Dorset. Dianne had been feeling particularly under the weather however she didn't want Joe to catch on.
She burped sickeningly, clutching her gut and resting her head on the toilet seat. She didn't dare move as the remaining contents in her stomach were now moving around trying to find their way out. She sighed and pulled out her phone, deciding to call Joe. She couldn't do this alone anymore.
Joe was suddenly pulled from his peaceful slumber when he heard his phone ringing quietly. He reached his hand out and noticed that Dianne wasn't lay next to him. He sat up abruptly and answered his phone and surprisingly it was Dianne on the other end.
"Dot. Are you alright? Where are you?" He rushed out, putting on some clothes and shoes.
"I'm fine. I just need you to come to the toilet block please." She cried down the phone.
"Why? Is everything ok?"
"I just feel really sick and I threw up." Her voice was raw and hoarse.
"Ok i'll be two seconds." He told her down the phone.

Joe's heart broke at the sight of his girlfriend hunched over the toilet. She was whiter than a sheet and was shivering like crazy. Her lips were pale and very chapped. Joe immediately rushed to her side.
"Sh sh, my Dotty it's ok. Let it out, i'm here."
Dianne was so grateful her Joey was by her side now, even if it did ruin their holiday away. Eventually, Dianne was just dry heaving as Joe rubbed her back.
"Calm down Little One. Shh shh."
She nodded and took some deep breaths until she finally stopped gagging.
"Feeling any better beautiful?" Joe asked, hoping she would be able to make it back to chippy rather than a public bathroom.
"N-no, I feel worse." She groaned. "But I want to go back to bed."
Joe was thankful that she had said this as he then could look after her more comfortably.
"Come on then my love. Stand up slowly." He helped her up and flushed the toilet.
Joe walked her back to where the camper van was parked and helped her back into the bed, placing a bucket on her side of the bed.
"Do you need anything Dotty? Painkillers? Water?"
"I want cuddles." She whispered, reaching for her boyfriend.
Joe smiled and slipped into bed beside her. She curled up and lay onto his chest, crying quietly.
"Hey, don't cry beautiful. You're ok."
"My stomach." She sniffed.
"I know, are you sure you don't need anything?"
"No. Just put your hands here." She guided his warm hands onto her lower abdomen, immediately falling into a slumber.
///
The sun was beaming through the windows of the van which woke Dianne up. Her hands found her way to her stomach which loudly gurgled making her extremely nauseous. She clenched her teeth, trying to hold back the nausea feeling.
"Morning my beautiful girl. How are you feeling?"
"Not the best." She sighed. "I'm so sorry, i've ruined this holiday."
"You absolutely have not. All that matters is you feeling better. Do you think you'll be ok if we head off home today?"
"Yeah. We may need to stop a few times but i'll be ok. I just want to go home Joey." Her eyes filled with tears.
"I know. Come here." He pulled her into a warm bear hug.
Joe felt Dianne's stomach tense and knew she was gagging. He pulled away and looked at her.
"Are you going to be sick?" He asked her as she held her hand up to her mouth.
She nodded her head frantically trying to fight back what was trying to escape from her stomach. Joe held the bin up in front of her and she heaved in front of it. Only, she didn't vomit. Instead she swallowed everything that her body had tried to bring up. Making her feel sicker.
"Dot! Don't do that, it'll make you feel worse. Let it out." Joe told his girlfriend whilst stroking her back.
Dianne didn't want that. She despised being sick so she often tried her very best to hold it all down. She suddenly gagged again.
"Let it out sweetheart." Joe told her.
Even if she wanted to she, couldn't hold it back this time. She vomited into the bin that Joe was holding in front of her, her body shaking from the shock. She finished and wrapped her arms around Joe, sobbing into his chest.
"Bless you, you're really not well are you?" He said softly, teasing her scalp. "Let's get you cleaned up and sat in the passenger seat with a bucket ready to go yeah." He told her.
Dianne sat at the back of the camper van as Joe packed up early. He folded away the pull out bed and disinfected everything. It wasn't long before they were both sat up in the front of Chippy ready for the two hour drive home.
"Right, are we ready to get you home and feeling better. Just let me know if you're feeling unwell and i'll pull over ok." Joe told the red head.
///
The drive home wasn't as bad as Joe thought it would be. They only had to pull over once and they made it back home in an hour and a half. Dianne went straight up to bed to sleep and Joe popped a wash on with all Dianne's clothes in.
"How you feeling sugar plum?" Joe asked when he walked back into their bedroom, placing a hand upon her forehead.
All Joe earned was a grumble as a response. He then placed his hand upon his own head to test the difference.
"You got a little bit of a fever too my love. Do you think you can eat something for me so you can have some medicine?"'
"Only something small." She replied.
"How about a piece of plain toast and a glass of water?" Joe suggested and she nodded in response, still bundled up under the duvet.
It wasn't long before Joe returned with the food for the red head and he placed it down on the bedside table.
"Here we are ma'lady." He perched on the end of the bed towards her feet. "Let's sit up yeah."
Joe carefully helped Dianne sit up and lean against the headboard, making sure he had the bucket on standby incase anything happened unexpectedly.
"You ok? Do you need to be sick?" Joe asked panicky, noticing her face turn ghost white.
She shook her head. "No, just dizzy." She replied and took a deep breathe
It wasn't long before Dianne had eaten the small piece of toast and taken her medication and she was back off to sleep, leaving Joe to make himself some food.
"What am I going to do with you eh?" Joe said to his sleeping girlfriend.
sorry for the abrupt end, i just couldn't find a good way to end it. hope you enjoyed anyway :) x
