After a long first school year for little 5 year old Ava, it was finally time for the well deserved 6 week summer holiday. However, for Joe and Dianne this meant that they had to arrange things as they had done before Ava started school.

Joe and Dianne had booked a summer holiday for them all to sunny Greece. They were planning on leaving the following morning after Ava finished school.

"Ava there is your mummy and daddy, have a lovely summer." Said Ava's reception teacher.

The little girl ran over towards her parents engulfing them in a warm hug.

"We going on howiday tomowow?"

"Yes that's right. Who's excited?" Joe said.

Both Dianne and Ava jumped up and down. Dianne then scooped up her not so little girl and span her around as Joe picked up the bags.

"Right then its home, play for a little bit and then dinner, bath, book and bed. We have to be up very very early tomorrow morning Pumpkin." Dianne said to her daughter.

"How early?" The little girl questioned?

"Earlier than the sun." Joe said.

It wasn't Ava's first time flying but both Joe and Dianne suspected that she wouldn't remember what it's like. Joe was super excited about the trip and as was Dianne however, she was an extremely anxious flyer since watching a certain number of documentaries on plane accidents.

"Right then Munchkin time for a bath I think." Dianne said looking at the time and reading 6 O'clock.

"Up up." Ava said holding out her cherry-red hands wide to be picked up.

As Dianne was washing Ava's hair the little 5 year old said something that made Dianne panic.

"Mummy, will it be scary on the airpwane? I'm scared." She said softly.

Dianne took a deep breathe knowing that she can't show her fear to the little girl.

"Of course not sweetheart, it'll all be fine you don't need to worry." She lied. Deep down she was so anxious about it but couldn't tell anyone.

"Right then stinky bum, what story do you want?"

"Hey, i'm not stinky bum. Mummy just gived me a bath." she scoffed sassily. "And I think I want this book." She said grabbing the thickest book off her shelf.

"Oh no no, this is too long. You need to be asleep soon. How about this?" He picked out the book 'We're going on a beat hunt'.

Soon enough, Joe heard the breathing of his daughter even out and he looked over at her in a deep sleep. He brushed down her soft brown curls and placed a kiss on her head.

"She's flat out."

"Good, I don't want her to be groggy tomorrow. What time are you setting your alarm Joseph?" Dianne asked whilst putting away the clean dishes.

"I think maybe two thirty. The flight is at six thirty so that gives us plenty of time."

Since Dianne had met Joe she had to accept that he was a freak about getting to places on time. Especially airports. Now that they had another person to think of too it made things even more stressful.

A couple of hours passed of the couple snuggled up on the couch watching tv. It got to around nine thirty and they decided to call it a night.

The rambunctious blaring of the small alarm clock blared both Joe and Dianne out of a peaceful sleep. Dianne groaned as Joe switched
the alarm off.
