I got this idea from @suggwell so hope you don't mind me using your idea. If you get a chance, go and read their books! They're amazing!

It was the middle of April 2020 and Joe and Dianne were having a normal day at work. They both met when they applied for different jobs at the same secondary school and instantly fell for each other. Since then they'd both been working at the school for 5 years, and they also live together after getting married last year. As well as being an English teacher, Dianne was promoted to the head of year 11 about 18 months ago and Joe is the head of English. GCSE's are coming round very quickly and Dianne is trying everything she can to prepare her year elevens for their exams.

"God, I'm feeling the pressure now Joey. I'm almost as stressed as the kids and i'm not even sitting the exams!" Dianne exclaimed.

It was 7:15 am and Joe was driving the two of them to work.

"Oh Dotty" He placed his hand on her thigh. "You don't need to worry. You're doing amazing and those kids are going to get some amazing grades in summer."

"I know most of them will, but it's the odd few that i'm worried about." She sighed, pausing for a moment. "They just don't understand how important these exams are and I don't know how long it'll take for them to realise."

"I know what you mean, but you"
he looked her in the eye once at a traffic light, "You are doing absolutely amazing!"

Not long after, the two of them arrived at school. Using her lanyard to let them into school, Dianne noticed all the recently new posters that had been stuck around the reception. Endless reminders that it was now around 4 or 5 weeks till their first GCSE exam.

"Shit Joe, it's only about one more month."

"Dot stop stressing it'll all work out. I promise.

Because Joe and Dianne had links with being the head of year/ subject, they were lucky enough to even be able to share an office. The office was just how Dianne wants their future home to be like, warm and cozy. It was painted grey and had a large glass window that looked out onto the main road. On the Joe's desk sat a desktop computer, a notebook lying open with lesson plans, and a stack of books that were half marked. Over by Dianne's desk it was a lot more organised, she had beautiful posters stuck above her desk with quotes that helped her make it through the day. All her equipment was colour coded and her desk had lots of cards stuck onto it from previous year students.

"Right then, what periods are you not teaching today Joseph?" Dianne asked.

"Give me a second. Erm." He looked over to Monday on the timetable that was stuck onto the wall. "I'm not teaching period 2, 4 , 5 and 6. Quietest day of the week!" He said cheerfully.

"That's great then, you can help me organise everything for the end of year eleven prom too." She laughed.

"So is this only the reason you married me then? Just to boss me around?" He joked.

It was now 8:45am and Dianne was about to start the year eleven assembly, just waiting for the last few people to arrive.

"Right, Morning year eleven."

"Good morning Mrs Buswell." They said back with an unenthusiastic response however, Dianne was used to it now.

"Year eleven, i'm calling this assembly together because I want all 300 of you to understand that your exams are in around one months time. This isn't aimed at everyone but there are a lot of people in here who this is aimed at, so listen up. If you were disappointed with the mock results that you opened back in January and then again in March, you should be thinking about what you're going to do in order so you don't feel that way in August. Imagine if those mock results you got were your actual grades, they're going to go with you for the rest of your life, define you and open or close doors for you. How would you feel if it was summer 2020 and you opened that envelope and saw those grades, that's what you've produced after 16 years of your life. Can I also say, there are so many people in this room who don't believe in themselves, you talk yourself down. If you don't believe in yourself then what are we going to do?"
