When I got home, my mom was looking at me as if i did something wrong. I shook my head.

Alessia: "why are u looking at me like that?"

Mom: "You've been leaving the house without us knowing, what's going on?"

Alessia: "Sorry,  I was at Shawn's."

Mom: "Is that the only place you go to?"

Alessia: "No?"

I replied as if I was trying to lie.

Mom: "You're always leaving to Shawn's without us knowing, it's making me really worried."

Alessia: "why are u worrying? nothing is gonna happen.."

Mom: "i know, but it's my responsibility as a mother to know where you're going and your dad needs to know too."

Alessia: "I just went to Shawn's and forgot to tell you guys."

Mom: "You spend so much time with Shawn that you don't have enough time to socialize with your own family."

Alessia: "Mom, don't say it like that..."

Mom: "it's the truth..."

Alessia: "Look, Shawn wants to me to be around him all the time."

Mom: "So do we, you can't just keep running off with Shawn and not talk to us."

Alessia: "Why do u guys care about how often I spend with Shawn? He's my boyfriend and we've dating for almost 2 months now and I don't need parents to be worrying about me spending time with my relationship all because I don't tell you guys when i'm leaving or without me even talking to you guys at all."

Mom: "Why do we care? because we are parents and it's our responsibility to know what you're doing."

Alessia: "Mom, I'm 23! I don't need someone to know where i'm going constantly! I'm not a baby anymore! Come on!"

Mom: "Don't raise your voice at me!"

Alessia: "And stop worrying about me!"

Mom: "If you spend too much time with Shawn, I'll have no choice but to break you guys up."

Alessia: "I don't get it, just a couple of days ago, you were okay with it and now you're acting you don't care, how come you just changed?"

Mom: "Because it's getting annoying, you barely come home anymore. It's like it's only Shawn you have your mind on. Take your mind off Shawn for one minute!"

Alessia: "You can't break me and Shawn apart!"

Mom: "Yes I can."

Alessia: "How?"

Mom: "I can just tell his parents that you don't have time for a relationship and you need focus on your career."

Alessia: "Mom, that's stupid."

Mom: "That's how you broke up with Kevin."

Alessia: "Really? You just had to bring up Kevin, don't you?"

Mom: "Sorry, but it's the truth.."

Alessia: "All I'm gonna say is you guys need to stop worrying. I'm not a baby anymore, you guys should know that. Do you think Shawn's parents is concerned about Shawn going out all the time?"

Mom: "Yea they are, they are going through the same thing. Ever since you and Shawn's relationship became official, you guys have been together and you guys don't come home anymore and I don't like it. It makes me disappointed that you keep leaving the house without me telling you. You're changing now these days."

Alessia: "Changing all because I'm not staying in the house? I don't have to tell you and dad everything!"

Mom: "Uh yes you do."

Alessia: "No I don't!"

Alessia: "When it comes to being in a relationship, things change. I have realized that I have been changing lately but I'm happy to be with Shawn and if you break me and Shawn up, then i'm not staying in this house anymore."

Mom: "You are not gonna do that."

Alessia: "Watch me."

I started heading upstairs as I was frustrated. I hated how my mom was always worrying. I'm not a child anymore, i'm a young adult. I don't need to tell someone where I'm going all the time and now she wants to try to split up me and Shawn up--like she can try to do it. I would love to see her try to do that because that's never gonna happen. I don't get my family anymore. I was laying on my pillow without saying any words.
