“Dude, you can’t put a monkey and a giraffe in the same space! The monkey would climb the tree, and when the giraffe would go to the tree to eat the leaves, the monkey would grab its tongue, and the giraffe would never come back, resulting in the giraffe starving and dying!” Jack said, his arms flailing everywhere.

Jack and Mason were having a very colorful discussion on whether or not a giraffe and a monkey could me in the same space in a zoo.

“Jack, bro, you would put more than one tree in the pen! The giraffe would have more than one tree to eat from.” Mason replied.

We were all sitting on the couches now. I was sitting next to Zack, with Mason sitting on the other side of me, and Rian, Audrey, Jack, and Mason were sitting on the larger couch across the coffee table from us.

“But what if the giraffe had a favorite tree, and would only eat from that one and that’s the one the monkey was in!” Jack said.

Mason rolled his eyes. “Then he can get a new favorite tree! The giraffe is smarter than the monkey!” Mason said, leaning back against the couch.

“No, that’s not going to happen, the giraffe isn’t smart enough to pick a new favorite tree.” Jack replied.

“How would you know how smart giraffes are?” Mason asked.

Jack stayed silent, thinking for a minute. He would start to say something, then quickly stop, thinking more.

Finally, he responded. “I just do.” He said, and Mason laughed.

“That’s what I thought! Clearly, I won this discussion.” Mason said, standing up with his hands in the air.

I looked over at Rian, Audrey, and Matt, and they were all sitting there with dumfounded looks on. I looked over at Zack, and he looked just as confused. He looked down at me.

“How the hell do they do that?” He asked me.

I shook my head. “I have no clue.” I said as I yawned. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time.

“Holy shit guys its 4 A.M.!” I practically yelled.

“No way, you’re lying.” Rian said, pulling his phone out of my pocket and looking at the time. His eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw it really was 4.

“Okay, I’m going to bed.” He said as he stood up, and I laughed.

Everyone else stood up, and Zack stood up, pulling me up with him.

“Are you staying in my room tonight?” I asked, dropping my voice and looking up at him.

He chuckled. “You don’t even have to ask, I was already planning on it.” He said, placing his lips against mine.

“Hey, no fucking tonight lovebirds, I don’t want to hear it through the walls.” Rian said.

“Eeww! A really nasty picture was just put in my head! I don’t want to think about innocent little Leila lying in bed-“

“Jack, please, don’t continue. I /really/ don’t want an image of my sister put in my head.” Mason said, cutting him off.

“Guys, we aren’t going to fuck!” Zack and I said at the same time. We had already established that we wanted to be a lot farther in our relationship before we got to that point.

“Mhmm. That’s what they want you to think.” Rian whispered, but not well enough.

Zack and I both rolled our eyes and walked out of the pool house and into the garden.
