**5 Months Later, January, Still On The USA Leg Of Tour.**
“He is such a fucking douche bag.” Audrey said after the show that night, referring to Alex. These last months, he was still just as cold and heartless as he had been, and so was Anya. I was now talking to Audrey about one of Alex’s recent stunts he pulled.
“He isn’t the guy I thought he was, that’s for sure.” I said before taking a drink of my water.
We were walking to the bus after I had finished signing for the fans, and I was ready to sit down with a cup of tea and relax.
“We’ll continue this conversation later, I have to go finish helping Vin load the merch into the van. I’ll see you in a while.” She said before taking off towards the venue.
I sighed and stepped on the bus to find Alex sitting by himself on his laptop in the kitchen. I prayed to God that there was somebody else on the bus. I walked back to the bunks and changed clothes, only to find that nobody was in their bunk or in the back lounge. Great, it was just Alex and I. I really wanted tea, so there was no way that I was going to avoid him.
I walked back into the front lounge and poured water into the coffee pot, letting it heat up before pouring it into my cup that I got out of the cupboard. I opened another cupboard and pulled out a tea bag and placed it in the cup, watching the water seep into the bag, releasing all of the tea.
I stood there in silence for a while before Alex broke it.
“Leila, can I talk to you?” Alex asked me.
I so badly wanted to say no, but something deep down inside of me hoped that he was going to patch things up between us.
“Talk.” I said bluntly. Just because I hoped that he was going to apologize doesn’t mean that I couldn’t be cold to him.
“Well, I’ve been talking to Anya, and she really wants to sing, and I was wondering if she could take over some of your songs on the European leg of tour, seeing as you sing during like half the show and she doesn’t do anything. If she wants to start a career in this business, she has to start somewhere.” He said.
I rolled my eyes and turned around, facing him. “Why the he.ll should I give her my songs? Am I not here trying to make a name for myself too? You chose me to come on tour with you out of hundreds of thousands of other people, finish my senior year of high school on the road, and you expect me to give my songs up to somebody who is a complete bitch to me and would probably love to run me over with a van? Seriously, if you think I’m giving up any of my songs, you’re fucking delusional.” I said, taking my tea bag out of my cup and tossing it into the trashcan.
“Can you stop thinking about yourself for one minute and think about somebody else Leila? The whole time Anya’s been here, it’s always been about you, you, you. Never about anybody else. God, you are so fucking selfish.” He said, and at that point, I thought I was going to explode.
I could feel my face getting hot, and my eyes welling up with tears. I could only manage two words before walking out of the bus.
“Fuck you.” I spat at him. I left my full mug of tea sitting on the counter and practically ran off the bus. The line of kids had gone, and crew members were milling around, piling equipment into the vans.
I didn’t stop at any of them, and ran to the first place that popped into my mind; the stage.
I sprinted towards the back of the building, past all the crew, past the Hey Monday bus, and past the vans. I wound my way through the back halls of the venue, through the twists and turns, until I finally got to the stage.
