“So Leila, I called your high school about you guys coming to visit, and they want you, Jack, Rian, and Zack to do an acoustic set tomorrow at 1:15. Is that okay with you?” Matt asked. It was now Monday night, and we were sitting around the table in my dining room, eating Chinese food.

“I’m cool with it.” I said, putting some of the orange chicken on my plate. “Are you guys good with that?” I asked, referring to Rian, Jack, and Zack.

They all nodded, unable to speak because they had food in their mouths.

“Okay, good. It’ll end up being in the gym, and they said we could come in tomorrow morning to set up, and you and Audrey could go visit your old teachers and classes and stuff.” Matt said, scooping rice onto his plate.

“We can go visit Ms. Higgens! She was seriously the coolest teacher I’ve ever had.” Audrey said. Ms. Higgens was the English teacher we had sophomore and junior year, and she was by far the most awesome teacher we’ve ever had.

“Yes! She was the best!” I replied before popping a piece of chicken in my mouth.

“Wait? What about our guitars and stuff? We need those to perform. And Rian needs his equipment and everything.” Zack replied.

“We’ve got that covered. Guitar World was being awesome and rented me out guitars for you guys, and one of the local music stores is giving us percussion equipment. They’re going to have it at the school tomorrow morning. It’s all under control.” Matt said.

The next morning, Matt, Audrey, Rian, Jack, Zack, and me all woke up at 6:30 so we could go to my high school. Matt said that the administration wasn’t going to tell everyone we were coming, so it was going to be almost like a surprise attack. School started at 8:05, and we were planning on leaving my house at 7:45, because the school was around 10 minutes away.

At 7:20, after Zack and I got ready, we went down to the kitchen and made coffee for everyone. After it was done, Zack and I each poured ourselves a cup and went out back to the 4 Seasons room.

“So are you excited for today?” Zack asked as we sat down on one of the couches. I smiled, sipping my coffee.

“Yea, I am. It will be like getting to show you guys a piece of what I went through every day before I came on tour with you guys.” I told him.

He smiled. “I’m looking forward to seeing it all. It’s been a while since I went to high school.” He said, and we both laughed.

We finished our coffee and put our cups in the kitchen before meeting up with the Matt, Audrey, Jack, and Rian in the foyer.

“So here’s the deal. We’re going to take two cars, because once the little gig is over, we have to take all the equipment back. Mason’s letting me use his Range Rover, and Lei I figured you could take your BMW that Mason said you had.” Matt said as we all stood there.

I nodded. “That works for me. I haven’t driven my baby in months.” I said, referring to my car.

“Well then, it’s settled. I don’t care who rides with where, just pile into the cars.” Matt said. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed my keys and my red Chanel bag, as well as my acoustic guitar, before going back out to the foyer.

“Lei, you’re wearing the outfit that you put me in when I played dress up! Except you’re wearing the heels I tried to put on instead of the wedges!” Jack said with a goofy grin on his face.

I laughed. “I loved the outfit enough that I had to wear it, and the leather jacket is really warm, which is perfect considering its fucking freezing outside.” I said as we stepped outside, walking into the 4 stall garage we had.
