The next morning, I got up at 8 to make everyone breakfast. Feeding 7 guys was going to be a challenge, but I was up for it.
Just as I was getting out the ingredients for pancakes, I heard someone come down the steps and walk into the kitchen. I turned around to find a very tired looking Alex, standing there in a pair of basketball shorts and an old Blink-182 t-shirt.
“Someone looks tired.” I said.
“Mhmm. I barely got any sleep last night. Jack kept kicking me, and that didn’t make for good sleeping time.” He said, sitting down on one of the stools.
“Uumm, there are two beds in the rooms, you know.” I said, cracking the eggs into a bowl.
“Yea, but Jack didn’t want to sleep alone, and I ended up getting stuck with him.” He said. “Do you need any help?” He asked.
“You don’t have to help me, you guys are the guests.” I said, stirring the batter.
“Yea, well, if I don’t do something, I’m going to fall asleep right here at the counter, so I might as well make myself useful.” He said, standing up and grabbing the package of bacon from the counter behind me. He started peeling the strips apart and putting them on the griddle that was on the stove.
“So how did you sleep last night?” He asked. I smirked.
“Pretty good. I’m pretty sure I could hear either Grieco or Matt snoring from across the hall, though.”
Alex laughed. “It was probably both. You better get used to it, you’ve got over 9 months of that left.” He said.
“Oh joy. I can’t wait.” I said sarcastically, pouring 10 pancakes onto the large pancake griddle we had. “How many of these do you think we’re going to need?” I asked him, pointing to the pancakes.
He looked at me and smirked. “Well, of you can fit 10 pancakes on the griddle at a time, I figure you’re going to have to do that at least 5 more times.” He said.
Holy sh.it, these guys could eat.

After breakfast, Alex and I went back to the studio and worked on Shameless and Too Much. This time, though, he didn’t sing with me, because these were my individual songs. While I was singing, he played guitar instead.
After we worked on that until 1, we went back upstairs to see if the guys wanted lunch. Instead of finding the guys, I found an empty house and a note from Mason on the island.
-Leila and Alex
I took the guys into town. Jack wanted to go sightseeing, even though you can’t do much of that, and everyone else wanted to tag along. We’ll be back in time for dinner.
-Mason
Alex read the note over my shoulder, and laughed.
“Jack wants to go sightseeing in a town that barely has over 1,000 people in it? I’m sure he’ll find a lot.” Alex said.
I laughed. “Truthfully, there isn’t much to do in town at all. That’s why living out here has it’s perks.” I said. “So what should we do?” I asked.
“Well, we’ve pretty much gotten as far as I want with the songs, how about you show me the rest of your huge backyard, seeing as we only saw part of it last night.” He suggested.
I nodded. “Good idea. That way if you want to go out there and watch the stars at night, you won’t get lost.”
We slipped our shoes on, and I took him outside to the back garden, where there was a fountain with a large patio around it. We walked through the garden, talking about random things, until we got to the fountain.
