“You ready Lei?” I heard Alex ask me. I turned to look at him and gave him a small smile.
“Ready as I’ll ever be.” I said as he handed me my mic. He gave me a cheesy grin. “Well you better be really ready, because London is calling.” He said before winking and walking on stage.
He was right, London was calling. I listened to the roar of the crowd and let them fill me with energy.
They were going to get me through tonight, that was for sure.
The last few days have been he.ll, to put it lightly.
Not only is the relationship between Zack and I completely out the window, but so is our friendship, acquaintanceship, or any other sort of ship for that matter. Maybe we’re in a rehationship? Like a relationship, only filled with hatred? Yeah, that’s what we are in, because he hates me, to put in nicely.
Anya, queen of bitchtopia is back to make my life he.ll. Not only has she been all over Zack at every turn, but I hear that she’s also been sleeping with him these last few days. And when I say sleeping, I don’t actually mean sleeping, if you know what I’m saying.
So yeah, right now, life is filled with sunshine, rainbows, and lollypops. Not.
“30 seconds guys, then you’re on.” I heard Matt say through my earpiece. That means I had around 5 minutes before it was my turn for Hello Brooklyn. We are basically keeping the same set for the Europe portion of the tour, except we added Lullabies back in.
“Okay Jack, you’re a go.” Matt said again, and Jack’s guitar pierced through the stadium, quieting the fans only for a split second before they began roaring even louder.
I looked out on stage to see Alex basically glowing with joy after hearing the roar of the fans, which made me smile. He has been my rock these last few days, and seeing him smile was quite the rarity, so to see him right now was a pleasant sight.
Rian’s drums began to fill the stadium now, then Alex’s guitar, and Zack’s bass. Before long, the four of them went silent, giving one last pause before dropping the curtain, releasing their energy into the crowd, and getting energy right back from them.
“She works for the weekend-“
Alex’s voice filled the place, its rich tone sending shivers down my spine. As bad as I’ve felt the last few days, this is what I needed.
“So how ya feel, Lei?” I felt and arm go around me and someone say.
I turned to my left to see Matt, and I smiled. “Surprisingly, I feel really good.” I told him.
He grinned. “Good, because you’re gonna have to use all the energy you’ve got for this show; the crowd is insane. I have a feeling that once encore song isn’t going to be enough.” He said, and I looked surprised.
“Really?” I asked. He nodded. “Yeah, they’re too hyped for you guys. This is what happens when we come over to Europe. It’s like Girls Gone Wild.” He said as he walked away laughing.
I laughed and shook my head. Usually he was only all-business-Matt, but today he’s been in a good mood, which put me in a good mood.
I looked back out to the stage, and the guys were just finishing Lost In Stereo.
“So, did you guys know that we’ve got a chick on tour with us right now?” Jack said into the microphone as he looked over to Alex.
“Really? I haven’t heard. Tell me a little bit about this ‘chick’ you speak of.” Alex said.
