I was sleeping very peacefully next to Alex when I was woken up to someone running up the stairs to the loft in the pool house, clearly out of breath.

“Oh damn. GUYS! I FOUND THEM!” I heard Jack’s voice yell down to whoever he was talking to. I tucked myself tighter into Alex, trying to fall back asleep. Clearly he was awake to, because I felt his arms tighten around me.

Then, I heard multiple sets of feet pound up the stairs into the loft.

“Awe, look how cute they are.” I heard what sounded like Grieco say.

“Guys, shut the fu.ck up, we can hear you.” Alex said.

“Yea, well, maybe when you guys decide you’re going to sneak away, you should probably leave us a note so we know where you are.” I heard Mason said.

“The reason we didn’t leave a note is because we didn’t expect to stay out here. I was showing Alex the North Garden, and it started pouring, so we decided to run to the pool house instead of our house. It was closer.” I replied to them, my eyes still closed.

“Then why didn’t you guys go back to the house when it stopped raining?” Zack asked.

“Because we fell asleep. We were soaked, cold, and tired. So we got blankets, curled up by the fire, and fell asleep.” I said.

“Yea, what she said.” Alex replied.

“Well, it stopped raining, so you guys can come back to the house.” Rian said.

“Or you guys can continue to sleep out here and not eat dinner. It’s only 7:30.” Matt replied.

“I’m going back to the house to eat, so whenever you guys wanna join us, feel free to.” Mason replied, and I heard footsteps on the stairs again, followed by a lot of other footsteps. After we heard the door close, I opened my eyes to see Alex looking at me.

“This was nice.” I said, stretching out a little bit. Alex smiled down at me. “It was. I’m probably not going to end up sleeping tonight, considering we got a good 5 hours of sleep out here, but whatever.” He said.

“Should we head back to the house? I’m hungry.” I said.

“Yea, that’s probably a good idea.” He replied, untangling himself from the blanket. We stood up and put everything back where it was. Our clothes had dried, but mine felt weird.

We walked back to the house in a comfortable silence. Not one of those awkward ones, but the ones where you’re both too tired to talk, and just being in each other’s presence is enough.

Once we got back to the main house, we found that the guys had gotten Italian from one of the local family-owned Italian restaurants in town.

When we walked into the kitchen, all 6 guys turned to look at Alex and I with smirks on their faces.

Alex and I both stopped and looked at them. “What?” Alex asked.

“So what really went on in there? You both have s.ex hair, and your clothes are all ruffled. Really guys, like we’re actually going to believe you didn’t do anything when you both clearly have the hair and clothes to prove it.” Jack said as he was picking apart a breadstick.

I rolled my eyes. “It rained, and we were soaked with nowhere to dry our clothes or our hair. Of course we’re going to be a mess.” I said. “There was no sexual activity involved.” Alex added.

Mason rolled his eyes. “Mhmm, sure, I really believe that.” He said. Thanks big bro, way to help me out here.

“I’m going to change.” I said.
