The Fight

  I woke up and started to do my morning routine, getting ready for another day in prison. I put on a black shirt with white horizontal stripes on it and a pair of white shorts. I tied a red, black, white and blue flannel around my waist and put on white shoes. I brushed my hair and tied it up into a ponytail, I clipped on my prosthetic and grabbed my bag and phone. I looked at myself in the mirror before walking out my room and going to school with Sal.

~~~
  By the end of the school day the entire school was abuzz with chatter about the school dance that was coming up. "Hey Scar!" Sal ran and caught up to me,"I've gotta ask you something." I nodded,"Shoot." "How would you feel if I asked Ash out to the dance?" Sal asked.
Dude.
Of all people...
  I sighed,"It's your life,bro. If you wanna ask Ashley to the dance then go ahead." Sal smiled, obviously so happy that he didn't even notice my tiny objection,"Ok! Thanks Scar! Love you, sis! Bye!" He ran off to go find Ashley as I arrived at my locker . I put on my combination and opened my locker.
  I heard footsteps run up to me. "Hey Scar!" "Hey Scarlett." I raised an eyebrow and cracked my locker shut before looking at the two boys standing in front of me. "Travis? Larry? May I help you?" I asked. Travis and Larry gave each other a disgusted look before looking back at me,"Will you go to the dance with me?" My eyes widened in surprise.
"Back off, Travis. I asked first,"Larry argued. "Shut up, Larry. You don't know her like I do,"Travis argued back. "Oh, don't even play that card Travis. You're not the one who she goes to with all of her problems. In fact, you seem to cause most of her pain,"Larry explained. "Oh yeah? I bet she isn't comfortable wearing her prosthetic around you," Travis said. "Well, she is,"Larry started. "Huh. Ok then. She doesn't even invite you to hang out with her anymore, does she? Do you know how many times we've all hung out without you?" Travis asked. "Oh, that's it!" Larry said, and the two boys decided to get into a physical fight over me.
  My heart broke momentarily for the two boys.
Is this how it's always going to be?
I'm going to have to choose one...
And break the other...
  I sighed and looked behind me to see a small crowd starting to form to watch the fight. In the front row were Ashley and Sal. I looked at my brother and sighed,"SallyFace, can you help me with this?" Sal nodded and the two of us pulled the boys away from each other. I pulled Larry away while Sal pulled Travis away. "Get off of me, SallyFace!" Travis pushed Sal off of him. "Let me go, Scarlett. Let me at him,"Larry has his hands on my arms and I was holding his shoulders. "Larry, relax!" I stared into his eyes before the two of us looked at our position and immediately let go of each other. Larry scratched the back of his neck while a blush dusted on his cheeks and I stared at the ceiling as I felt myself blush under my prosthetic.
  Both boys seemed to be kind of  bruised and bloody which would've gotten worse if me and Sal hadn't intervened. I sighed and did my locker routine before shutting it and turning back to Travis and Larry, who were giving each other deadly stares. "I've decided that I'm going to go to the dance with Travis. That's it. End of discussion," I stated firmly as I walked past Larry so I could go home. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces because I didn't have to look back to tell that Larry was staring at me as I walked away.
Did I make the right decision?
How's Larry going to feel?
Oh my God...
What have I done...
