It was Saturday morning, the day of her best friend's big 18th birthday party.
She made sure to get plenty of sleep the day before so that she can wake up early and get some things done. It's nearly noon and she has already completed her tasks, by finishing making some of the platters of food, buying the candles and some decorations.
Kelliana sprawls against her marble kitchen benchtop, already feeling the exhaustion getting to her. She sighs as she realises that she was alone in the house as her mother was at work again so she had to make her own lunch with the few ingredients they have in the fridge. She had to remind her mother that they needed to go grocery shopping soon.
She pulls out her phone and texts Gina that she has everything prepared.
A ding comes from her phone seconds later and she reads the messages that her friend sent back.
Knew I could count on you girl
- Gina
A soft smile graces Kelliana's features as she responds to her text, the tapping of her freshly done acrylics against the screen being heard distinctly. She places her phone back down on the marble counter top and pauses to think for a moment. Knowing that Gina was a social butterfly to the point that she makes everyone around her feel welcomed, she could figure out the clear fact that there is going to be a few people at the party that she doesn't get along with.
All Kelliana needed tonight was to party with her friend with a little devious plan on the side planned for her ex.
Feeling her stomach rumble in hunger, the crave for fast-food delivery sounds tempting at this moment. But she keeps it light, heading over to her refrigerator and picking out some lettuce and deli meats to make herself a sandwich. She would cook an all-out meal if it wasn't such an important day today.
Munching on the sandwich she made on her plate, not bothering to wait till she sits down on the sofa in her living room, she turns on the TV to drown out the silence in her empty home.
There was nothing to do now since it was still around 12 PM, and she had to be at Gina's around 3 so that she can help set up the party. After kicking off her high heeled boots on the soft rug and positioning herself in a comfortable curl on the sofa, she eats her sandwich while selecting an episode of Queen of the South, a show that both her and Gina loved watching but she hasn't caught up to the latest season. She chuckles when she remembers how Gina yelled at her for watching ahead when season 3 came out and now she was the one behind on season 4 whilst Gina has already watched all of it.
Before she forgets and becomes too endorsed in her show, she decides to shoot a text to Uriah.
Remember Gina's party tonight, 7:30 PM
- Kelliana
She puts her phone back down on the arm of the sofa and now completely emerges herself in the show, before drifting off to sleep.

"Hey birthday girl", Kelliana playfully yells as the front door opens to reveal her beautiful and shining best friend as they both squealed high enough to bleed someone's ears.
"GAAHH!", Gina squeals as they both encase each other in a tight hug, ushering Kelliana in her home and helping out with the bags of food and decorations.
"I literally have butterflies, Kells", Gina says as she places the bags in her kitchen, her hand held against her chest dramatically. Kelliana laughs as she says "same" and then gazes around the large house, seeing how clean and spacious it is with all the furniture moved and some of the decorations are up.
