"Rauz, I don't have time to practice spells right now, I told you I have a photoshoot today!" Calluna exclaimed as she loaded her bag with clothes and accessories.
She was constantly putting off practice even when she didn't have a shoot so I wasn't buying it. Despite her recently gaining a new oddity, Aerokinesis, she'd barely even practiced it and seemed more interested in modeling than the potential threat.
"Calluna we need to be ready for when Malik- I mean if Malik awakens" I said awkwardly trying to convince her to stay.
She walked over to me and grabbed my hand "Listen, I know things have been difficult since Altiair put himself to sleep and it has been for all of us but, you have to stop obsessing over Malik and start worrying about how we can get this dark magic out of Alt"
As annoyed as I was with her bailing on practice I knew she was right. Even though in the last four months we've basically tried everything and looked everywhere trying to get this magic of him, we still should be more focused on that than Malik, being that we don't know if he's even awake. Even though I've had a gut feeling for months that he is.
"You're right Calluna... ill go look and try to find something to help Altiair instead of practicing" Although I wasn't happy about it, I was telling the truth
I heard someone coming down the stairs and I looked over to see Finn entering the room.
"Are you guys arguing about Malik again?" He said with an annoyed tone
"You know we are" I replied rolling my eyes "its not a good morning unless we're arguing about that" Finn and Calluna laughed
"Well I agree with whatever Calluna said" He smiled "Wait, what did Calluna say?"
"That we should focus on waking Altiair up and not Malik" I replied
"Then yes I definitely agree, we need to focus on that because im tired of sleeping in my boyfriends bed while he sleeps in some place that only an idiot vampire knows about" I knew he was about to start ranting so I cut him off
"Finn don't start! Ezekiel is our friend, not an enemy" I snapped "Altiair wouldn't have let someone he didn't trust take him somewhere secret"
"Exactly and thats the problem! Why the hell does he trust someone that schemed and tried to kill him" Finn shouted and walked away back to his room
"Oh my god, why is my life so chaotic right now" I mumbled while placing my hand on my head.
"Tell me about it" Calluna added "Well I gotta go, calm down and relax for once Rauz! Its okay to do so" Calluna quickly left out the door.
After she left I walked in the living room and grabbed the spell book and began looking through it. As I was trying to find anything to help, I came across a picture that we all took together the first year that we met. He must've put it in there as a symbol, or some sort of reminder.
I got emotional and began to tear up.
"I saw that earlier and it made me cry too" A voice said from behind me, and I recognized it as Enya's.
"Yeah, I just hate that things are like this now you know?" I replied somberly "wait why aren't you at work?"
"I got the day off, I thought maybe you would take the day off too and we could hang out" she suggested
"Take the day off from what?" I was confused by that statement
"From all of this, trying to prepare for Malik and as hard as this is to say, trying to get the magic out of Altiair" Enya explained "Your overworking yourself everyone needs a day off Rauz"
