After healing Raven's mother, we left and rushed to find Delilahs sister. Raven, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Ravens mom, and myself were all in the car.
"I can't believe he's dead, I cant believe your father is dead" Mrs. Weir cried out, she still seemed shaken up, rightfully so.
"Me either, I was so excited to see both of you" Jeremiah replied somberly
"It's like the day that I get both of my sons back, I lose someone the love of my life" She added
I saw Ravens face completely change, she looked so sad after her mother misgendered her which angered me. I pulled over to the side of the road and stopped the car.
"Whats going on Alt?" Raven asked me
"Listen Mrs. Weir, I mean this in the most respectful way possible but, over here we respect pronouns" I snapped "I have watched Raven grow and struggle to become the WOMAN she is today. So im sorry but I cannot let you call her your son when you and I both know you don't see a boy sitting there"
Raven and Jeremiah looked at me in shock, but I didn't care. There was no way I was going to let Raven be disrespected after years of watching her become who she is.
"Listen Raven knows my thoughts and feelings on this, I don't really agree-" before Mrs. Weir could even finish I cut her off
"No one is asking for you to agree, thats the problem when it comes to people who think like you" I quickly replied "You all think you have the power to tell someone what you agree with, that doesn't matter because its not your life, she is who she is. One thing about it though, you WILL respect her and anyone else in my family you meet" Mrs. Weir looked at me as if for the first time, she had actually been called out on her ignorance.
There was a slight pause "Your right, Raven is grown its not my life to control" She replied admittedly.
"Your so hot when you get aggressive" Ezekiel mumbled and I nudged him.
I looked in the rear view mirror to see Raven and Jeremiah smiling. She mouthed the words "Thank you" to me and I nodded and smiled.
I started the car and began driving again with the others still following behind me.
"Well, I see you've been in good hands since you left, he seems like he has you guy's back no matter what" Mrs. Weir said to Raven.
"We have each others back, because thats what family does" Raven replied which made it even more awkward
"Yeah well, I guess I haven't done such a good job with that" She admitted.
"No shit" Jeremiah mumbled. It surprised me because Raven was just talking about how weak willed he seemed compared to before.
"You and dad just didn't know how to deal with me and thats okay, its why I left" I notice Jeremiah grab Ravens hand to comfort her, and I just sat there listening to all of it.
"It wasn't your dad, it was always me" Mrs. Weir replied "Your father always accepted you for who you were, but I just couldn't"
Raven sighed before responding "Why though? I mean what made you that way? Its not like we grew up religious, we're witches for crying out loud"
"I had a best friend who was queer in the eighties, he was a human but I loved him so much, we did everything together. One day they just disappeared, I didn't hear from them for months until I found out what happened" I could tell she was getting emotional from the cracks in her voice "He died from HIV, and honestly that was my only memory of queer people for a long time, so when you came out I immediately thought of that and it made me so scared for you. The trans thing really confused me because I just truly didn't get or understand it. I still don't."
