Exiled II: The Awakening

Chapter 10

As Oz challenged Lucian, we continued to hide in the trees and watch. So far nobody had saw us, probably because we were hidden well and all the attention was on Oz and Lucian.

Out of nowhere a wolf had dashed through the trees to go watch the fight, as startled as we were, we were lucky he was moving too fast to see us.

"Oz, no you don't have to do this!" A red haired woman said while trying to grab him

"That's where your wrong, I do!" He snapped pushing her off him "He's leading us down a dark path, the thing he wants us to follow is tainted. That's not the future I want for us as a pack, or for my family" Oz looked over at a woman standing with her two kids, watching in fear.

"Is that his family?" I asked

"Yes" Angelo replied somberly

"How strong is Oz?" Calluna asked "Do you think he can take Lucian?"

Angelo turned around and looked at us intensely before explaining "I mean he is his Beta, his second in command. Lucian wouldn't have chose him if we wasn't as or almost as strong as him"

We all looked around in hope, that maybe if Oz could beat Lucian we wouldn't have to be at war with the wolves, and we could get those books back easily

"You sure you wanna do this boy? It'd hurt me to have to kill you" Lucian said arrogantly.

Oz stepped even closer to Lucian, so close to his face they could probably kiss.

"Im sure, and the only one dying here today is you" Oz said with rage filled eyes.

The wolves all began to howl and growl again, almost as if they were happy to see this. Angelo didn't look happy at all, actually he looked sad. In this moment I could tell Angelo was alot different than them and I felt even better in my decision to not kill him.

Lucian and Oz both backed away from each other and took their shirts off.

"Why did they do that?" Raven asked

"Its tradition, before a challenge for the alpha position, both have to take their shirts off and start the battle in human form for the first five minutes" Angelo explained "If it lasts that long"

"See im happy us vampires don't go through this, we just move fast and whoever rips whose heart out first wins, its quite simple" Ezekiel joked and I held back my laughter because it wasn't the time

"Lets get this over with, beta" Lucian said with an evil grin

"You can just call me Alpha" Oz replied before rushing Lucian.

Oz tried to jump on top of Lucian but Lucian countered it and slammed Oz. Oz didn't stay on the ground long and recovered quickly. For a moment they both stood around circling each other.

"I gave you a chance to back out Oz! Now im gonna kill you!" Lucian shouted

Oz didn't even respond before rushing Lucian again, but this time he predicted that Lucian would try to slam him so he went under instead of over and threw Lucian on the ground. Oz immediately got on top of him and started punching him repeatedly.

Lucian used his legs to kick Oz off of him and then used his arms to spring up into the air.

"Ugh! He's so strong..." Angelo said in a disappointed tone

"I take it your rooting for Oz" Raven said to Angelo

"Yeah, he was kind of mean to me as well but I think I always knew he felt the same way about this Malik thing as me. He was just trying to be a good beta" He replied "Also he trained me, so I spent alot of time with him and he taught me alot"
