Brightness filled the room as my eyes opened slowly. I didn't recognize where I was and I looked down to see that I was tied to a chair. The room looked very fancy and rich, there was nice furniture, and a mantle with a fireplace underneath although nothing was burning at the time. The carpet was red and I could tell this was some kind of mansion.
I looked over to see Raven also tied down to a chair and still knocked out.
"Raven" I said quietly "Wake up!"
She slowly began waking up and looked around in confusion the same way I did.
"Altiair, where are we?" She asked quietly before trying to force the buckles holding our hands down, off.
"I have no clue but im guessing Malik has something to do with it" I replied
"Ding ding ding, we have a winner" A deep voice said from behind us, as he walked in front of us I saw that it was Malik.
I immediately lost my cool and began trying to get up and out of the chair "You monster, you killed Juru! Im gonna kill you!" I began shouting like a lunatic
"Correction, he wouldn't obey my orders so I killed him. Come on Altiair, please don't make me look like the bad guy here!" He had a menacing smirk on his face which drove me crazy
"Why are you holding us hostage? Why don't you just kill us and get it over with?" Raven asked
"Easy, because Altiair is still hogging my magic, and I need you for something very important" He explained
"You may as well kill me because I'd rather die than help you with anything" Raven snapped
He began chuckling "im sure you said before you helped wake me too, see I can be very persuasive" I rolled my eyes at him "Plus you'll help me if you ever want to see your brother again"
Raven and I looked at each other in shock and confusion.
"My brother is dead" Raven replied somberly
"Oh but he's not" Malik replied briskly
"He was hit by a car when I was younger, you don't know what your talking about" I could see Raven filling up with anger
"That's what you were supposed to believe yes, but Jeremiah is still very much alive" He bragged
"How is that even possible? I saw him die" She snapped
He looked at her intensely "you saw someone that looked just like him die" I looked at Raven still shocked
"What are you saying?" Raven asked "That doesn't even make sense"
Malik began walking closer to Raven, he continued staring at her with intensity.
"He was a shapeshifter, we needed it to look like your brother died so nobody would ever come looking for him" He explained
I still couldn't tell if he was telling the truth at this point, but I also couldn't think of a reason he'd be lying.
"Okay, and why would you do that?" Raven replied as tears filled her eyes
"Because he's a Weir witch and I thought he would inherit the oddity that would decalcify me, but looks like you were the special one after all" He told us "We thought he was just refusing at first so they tortured him for months. Until they realized he didn't have the power yet so they kept trying and kept trying, months turned into years and then one day he slipped up and told me us had a sibling... thats where you came in Raven"
"I actually think he's telling the truth" I said in disgust
"It worked out perfectly because Raven was connected to you Altiair, and you were the only witch that I knew for sure could handle my magic being inside of you, Kane told me how powerful you were and how powerful your parents were" He said to me with a smile on his face "but then again Wick witches have always had a reputation for being extraordinary"
