"Is this your card?" Husk asked. He was practicing magic tricks, but I had a trick of my own.
"Nope! Mine's right here," I said, pulling the card out so he could see it.
"Woah," he said. "H-how'd you do that?"
I smiled.
"It's a trick my grandmother taught me. She was a magician. Would you like me to teach you?"
He nodded and rested his head on my shoulder as I took him through all the steps. For a moment he was like a little kid, amazed at everything tiny action that went into pulling off the trick.
"And that's how you do it!" I said, pulling the card out again.
"Wow!" he exclaimed.
I looked at him again. He was smiling as he practiced. I had to admit, I enjoyed spending time with him like this.
I taught him a few more tricks I learned from my grandma. He seemed to smile a little more each time.
He seemed to be debating on something, but I couldn't tell what. He looked to the ground, then at me.
"Thanks," he whispered, kissing me on the cheek. "This was fun."
He stood up and left.
'Does... does he...?'
I decided not to question it until tomorrow, walking back to my room with a huge smile on my face.
