Tears

There was a knock at the front door.

"I got it," said Charlie.

She opened it and smiled.

"Welcome to the Happy Hotel! How can I help you?" she asked.

"Hello," a voice said from outside. "My name is Violet Chaplin..."

'Wait,' I thought. 'Is that...?'

"I'm looking for my daughter. Her name is Raven."

"Mom?" I asked, getting up.

I walked to the door. Both of my parents were standing outside.

"And Dad, too? Wh-what are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"I could ask you the same thing. Isn't this Heaven?" Dad asked.

I shook my head, shortening my hair.

"No... this is Hell. Why are you here?" I asked.

"How did you do that?" Mom asked.

"How did you get here?" I repeated.

They started to get nervous.

"Why did you shoot us, anyway?" Dad asked, trying to change the subject.

I was starting to get impatient.

"Don't change the subject. Answer me," I said, crossing my arms.

"That is no way to speak to your father, young lady," he said.

I rolled my eyes. He squinted at me.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" he asked.

I groaned.

"Honey, remember what we talked about..." Mom said.

"I don't care what we talked about!" I shouted. "I tried to save you because I thought you were good people, but apparently not!"

My voice was getting shaky.

'Don't cry, don't cry, fuck,' I thought.

"We are good people. You're the one who decided to shoot her own parents!" Dad yelled.

"It's better than disintegrating, trust me!" I yelled back. "Tell me why you're here!"

"It doesn't matter how we got down here!"

I balled my hands into fists. Tears were spilling down my cheeks now.

"Then why won't you tell me?" I asked.

Charlie laughed nervously.

"Eheheh, um..." she said. "You guys can come in. I'll set up a room for you."

"Thanks," Dad said, glaring at me.

I groaned and walked to my own room. Strangely, my door was open a little bit.

I stopped.

'Wait. Haven't I seen this before?' I thought.

I walked by, looking cautiously at my door. Just as I suspected, someone held their hand to my mouth and pulled me into my room.

I looked up and saw Husk. I tried saying something.

"Shh," he said. "I heard what happened. You don't want them to hear us, do you?

He let go of my mouth. I was in shock.

"This... this happened in my dream..." I said.

"It did?" he asked. "Uh... I have to go..."

He walked quickly out of my room and into the one next door. I could hear two people arguing in another room.

"Great... Husk is one door to my left and my parents are one door to my right," I said, plopping down onto my bed.

I had to find out why they were here. I just had to.
