"You might wanna control you're beta, Scott. She could get you all killed."

Scott and I tug at Liam's bedsheet but he just pulls them back over his head again, fake coughing to try prove a point.

"No, I'm.. I'm sick." Liam says, his voice muffled.

Scott sighs. "You're not sick."

"Yeah, I-I'm like deathly ill." Liam stutters. "It's serious. I think.. I think it's the flu."

"It's not flu season." I state.

"Uh, then I probably have pneumonia." Liam replies.

"Liam, you're a werewolf. You can't get pneumonia." Scott tells the boy. "But you know what you get is in trouble for being late to school. Come on, let's go."

Scott pulls the sheet, Liam's head finally appearing as he props himself up on his elbows.

"I don't think I should go to school." Liam says. "Or outside. Or anywhere. Ever again."

"It doesn't matter what you think, okay?" Scott softly tells him. "You've gotta go. Now all you do is pretend like nothing happened."

"Pretend?" Liam repeats. "I'm just supposed to pretend?"

"We want you to go to school, okay?" I tell Liam, ignoring his question. "And Liam Dunbar."

Scott drags Liam off of the bed, Liam falling with a thud as he looks up at us. His longish hair hangs in his face.

"Everyone hates us." Liam begins. "They hate us for trying to save their lives."

Scott crouches down. "You're right. We are trying to save lives which is why you're gonna get up and go to school, pretend like nothing happened. If you don't, more people could die."

Liam slowly nods. "Because of me."

"We didn't really know Brett or Lori, not like you did." I softly begin. "But we know you. If you're afraid of seeing more of your friends die, you'll go."

"They were murdered." Scott tells us as we stand in the bunker. "Killed by the new hunter in Beacon Hills. When he took you the hellhound, we thought that it was luck. That we were dealing with an amateur but now we know that whoever this new hunter is, he has a teacher."

"Gerard." Argent says, his arms crossed. "Which means this is my fault. I'm the one who let him go."

"You couldn't have done anything." Lydia reassures.
