From time to time there are points in your life
When people fade and solitude takes hold of you
As if by accident you wake up to find yourself isolated
Your now imaginary friends are left to keep you company
You speak to them as if they can hear your longing words
So many moments wanting to share with someone other than yourself
There they are to cheer you on
A play to get you through another uneventful night
You lay down to sleep again and dream they've returned
Only to bring them back to drift somewhere in your thoughts
Just wanting to find a way to change the pattern of lonely days
More will come and few will stay
And in the end they'll all be imaginary
