Paging Dr. Shakur... come in Dr. Shakur...
At the age of 25, Tupac Shakur is truly at the top of his field as the youngest doctor to date at the first Black-owned Hospital in America known as Mekka Creek where he's proven to have saved dozens of liv...
Some people couldn't look beyond the physical in love. Tupac was guilty of this in the past. But now he was looking for something deeper than any eye could see.
Aaliyah spent days in rehab. Handling the equipment the best she knew how. Progress started to be made slowly but surely. Sometimes she felt she could stand and walk again. These thoughts even followed her to bed. In her dreams, she'd be dancing.
Without the casts or wheelchair.
Once she was finished for the day, she headed back to her room. Along the way, the nurse from last week gave her an evil look. Aaliyah was too caught up in her own world to notice the alliance that was forming against her due to her relationship with Dr. Shakur.
It was a sight to behold.
The women who didn't believe quickly became convinced after it was known he brought her books one day.
With his own money.
It seemed like everyone except Aaliyah could see this.
Anyway, she hightailed back to her room to shower. The nurse who usually helped her was nowhere to be found after she too had got wind of this secret relationship between them. There were no rules set between a patient and doctor relationship. No matter how much they wanted to huff and puff about it. They sat around on lunch breaks feeling terrible for Dekiya.
The fact she had to show up to work every day to see this.
"Poor Dekiya." A nurse, Wong, spoke as they got coffee and donuts on their lunch breaks.
"She should've seen this coming from the getgo, though." Another nurse added. "No wonder it took them so long to get married."
"Right! I don't care after 3-months and still no ceremony our engagement would've been called off."
Aaliyah brushed through her hair the day after next as she rolled out of the bathroom. Just as she was about to get cozy in bed, a knock hit her door.
"Who's there?" She questioned.
"Pac." His voice was muffled behind the door.
She moved over to unlock it. "Dr. Shakur?" she soon became confused. "What are you doing here still? It's so late."
"I'm here to bust you out."
"Huh?"
"For one night then I'll bring you back." He wore one of those excited smiles on his face that showed off his pearly white teeth. Even in the darkroom. "C'mon I know you probably tired of waking up here every day and I wanna show you something."
He went over and got her jacket then tossed it to her. She didn't know what to say. It was like a dream. Aaliyah slid into the fabric as he wheeled her out of the room. Each of the hallways was dark and empty.
Silence fell upon the hospital for the night. Besides a few nurses who worked the nightshift and security. They took an elevator down as Security Nilson watched from the surveillance video. His blood boiled but then cooled when he saw who it was a smile spread across his face.
"What's tha-" a nurse came walking up as he jumped in front of the screen.
"Nothing..."
By this time they made it to the exit and into the parking lot. Tupac dug into his pocket for his car keys. As Aaliyah inhaled the after rain scent of Spring. He placed her into the passenger seat being extra careful not to hurt her.
"My wheelchair." She reminded as he scooped it into the trunk and they pulled off.
