He had finally contacted her and like most things he did, it was out of the blue. His excuse was he had been caught up with work. But tonight he wanted to take her out to one of the upscale restaurants downtown.

"That sounds great." She grinned. "I can't wait I've been cooped up in the house since I got here."

Tupac laughed. "Cool! I'll pick you up at 8 PM so you can see how I look outside of my work clothes."

That made her giggle. "Alright, bye."

"Don't forget doctor's orders." He teased.

She hung up then glared around her room before getting to her feet with the help of a floor lamp. The pictures that decorated parts of her bedroom wall and vanity mirror came down with each pluck Aaliyah took at them.

Letting go was the hard thing, yet steps were being taken, nonetheless.

She sighed at the photographs of her ex then rolled into the bathroom to freshen up.

On the drive there, Aaliyah tried and couldn't think of the last time she went on a dinner date. He helped her out and inside as they were shown to their table. Most of the night was spent discussing basketball and how she couldn't wait to get back on the court.

"That's one thing I cannot do," he said. "Is play ball I'm trash at it."

"Are you serious?!" her eyebrows crinkled. "Are there any sports you do enjoy playing?"

"Not any I could think of."

"I'll teach you." She smirked in between a sip of wine.

"I'm going to hold you to that."

Aaliyah shrugged then wiped at her mouth with a napkin. "It can't be that hard either since you already got the Jordan bald fade."

He chuckled while rubbing a hand over his head.

Clothed round tables and fancy chairs decorated the place. Along with long white candles and freshly vacuumed red carpet. They continued eating and enjoying the sweet melodies that played low from the band on stage. When it was time to head home, he took a ride around instead. Stopping at the local beach to watch the water waves underneath the moonlight.

"We should get in..."

"This suit cost me a fortune I can't afford to get it w-" She splashed at him before he could complete his sentence. He paused as the cool water dripped down his dark skin. "Aight! On second thought." Tupac pulled her into the water as they splashed around.

"Okay! Enough I'm freezing." She squealed as the knee-length floral dress she wore stuck to her figure. Her hair was somewhat stringy now that the hair clips all fell out. He carried her to his car and kissed her shivering mouth after offering his jacket.

"I'ma get you on hom-"

"No! Let's stay a little longer." Aaliyah pulled him close as their tongues brushed against each other. Tupac kissed up her neck which he learned was her weak spot.

She bit back a moan as they climbed into the backseat and made love. "I know this might sound crazy, but I think I'm falling in love with you."

He moved aside strands of her hair. "That's good, what are you crying for?"

"It's scary." Her last relationships all ended terribly. "Cuz h-how do I know you're really here for the long run?"

"I'm here with you now... is that not enough confirmation?"

She licked her mouth and he kissed her. "I don't want to be left alone... not again."

"You won't be." Tupac pulled her close.

Sure, she wanted to believe this but had doubts.
