amma, the ninth photo
in the album third from the bottom -
is that a natural bad resolution
or were you intentionally
with an unconscious agenda
unclear?

I expected to see the taj
in the background
or a beach
but it's just more people
& names -

the bag you carry
is heavier than you thought
it is bending you backwards
like a bridge
over a subtle brook
for others to cross over -

I don't want you to be a body
I want you to backflip-
yes - see the world upside down
& back again in a blink
no - you're never too old
to fall & kip back up -

the children -

for whom you held onto
the weight full of recipes
they did not want you
to forget & the wisdom
of baby crying -
what was hunger
& what the vision
of a previous life -

would have lingered on
the lip of your smile then -

you would have named
yourself on an unnamed moon breaking down
all the gravity
almost all the time.
