Vinny looked at his watch and realised he had just over an hour before their limit was up.
He needed to get off this mountain.
He walked over to the edge and looked down. surprisingly, he wasn't as high as what he thought.
There was also a few ledges that he could jump too. They'd be risky and slippy but he might survive the fall if he accidentally fell off the edge.
But what other option did he have?
Without wanting to waste any more time, he took a few steps back and inhaled a deep breath.
He gave himself a moment of composure before leaping forwards and jumping off the side.
He flew through the air but kept eye contact with the ledge.
It only took a few seconds but he landed on it and fell into the cliff face.
He gripped it while his heart was racing.
He closed his eyes, breathed slowly and calmed his mind right down before doing the same again.
This ledge was a little further down so his landing had to be perfect if he wanted to do it somewhat safely.
He positioned his feet and without thinking about it, he jumped.
He flew through the air once more and it only took a few seconds to collide with it, but he had made a mistake.
This ledge wasn't a ledge.
It was a big block of ice that gave way to his weight.
It instantly collapsed under his feet and sent him falling down the steep cliff face.
He covered his head and accepted the fall while bashing off of every rock.
It didn't take too long for him to roll onto the snow covered floor as the mountain levelled out, but he had definitely broken something.
He brought his arms down and was struck with a horrendous pain in his wrist and by the way it looked, it was broken.
There was no bone sticking out or anything too extreme, but it hurt a lot.
Vinny sat up in the snow and rubbed his eyes with his good hand.
He couldn't believe what he was doing. This all felt like a crazy dream, but it wasn't.
He was stuck in another world with a very little chance of returning home.
But he made a promise to Oliver and the vampire has never broken a promise.
* * * * *
Half an hour later.
The angels had gone back to the ledge to wait and see if Vinny was successful.
They were unaware that he had no way of getting back anytime soon and had started a quest to somehow get into heaven.
Oliver was staring into space. He could feel Vinny's emotions and he somehow knew that he was injured but he didn't know where or if it was serious.
Rayvon was sitting next to him and holding his hand.
They were both filled with anticipation and worry.
They were trying not to let the negative thoughts in but he had been gone for a while now and they only had half an hour left of their time limit.
Duke and Madison were sitting on the opposite couch and trying to think positive too. But it was hard, their son is in serious danger and they couldn't do a single thing about it.
