Gold Lights

Chapter 9

Duke started by telling Jack and Rebecca about Vinny and Oliver. He told them that Oliver worked for them before they connected the bond and how Vinny didn't tell them about him straight away because he was nervous.

He then went on to explain what happened two Vampire years later when the demons came and took them to the other world.

Jack and Rebecca had heard about that attack but they didn't know it was because Vinny and Oliver had the strongest bond ever to be connected in this world.

They continued to tell them how Corey and Panuleon are from the other world and the demons captured them because they had an amazingly strong bond too.

They told them how the boys escaped and brought the couple back to this world because it was demon free.

Now, was the tricky bit to explain.

Duke began to tell them how the boys had big news and it turned out that Oliver was pregnant and so was Corey.

Judging by the shock on the couple's faces, they wanted Duke to carry on.

He told them it happened because of a power that's keeping the boys connected and one that will be passed on to their children so they'll have a bond even stronger than their parents.

Duke didn't want to say that another demon attack would come when the kids are around eighteen, but they seemed too full of information to take in any more.

When the silence came, they gazed at the two couples.

"Wow," Jack breathed. "And I thought my life was interesting."

Rebecca chuckled but shook her head in amazement.

"We had no idea that any of this had happened."

"Yeah, you'd think a male pregnancy would've got around but we were clearly in our own little world" Jack chuckled. "But how amazing."

They were looking at Vinny, remembering that angry teenager who got mad at anyone who looked at him funny.

Now, he was sitting her with a husband and a child, loving the life he's living.

Things couldn't have turned out better for him.

"Pan!" Rayvon suddenly shouted as he ran across the grass, carrying Luka who had wrapped his limbs around him and was crying.

Everyone turned as Panuleon stood up and jogged over to them.

"What happened?" He asked as he took his sobbing child.

"He fell off the swing," Rayvon said in a panic. "He hurt his leg!"

There was a little rip in the knee of his jeans, showing where his cut was.

"It's okay Rayvon, I can fix it" Panuleon's calm and soothing voice made the kid nod. But he hated that his friend was hurting.

For some reason, he couldn't stand it.

Panuleon wrapped his gentle hand around Luka's bleeding knee.

The kid had his face buried into his dad's chest as he began to feel the cooling energy circling the sore area.

Corey watched with concern but he knew everything will be okay, Panuleon was very good at calming any situation.

Rayvon waited patiently until Luka lifted his head when it stopped hurting.

"Are you better now?"

"Yes, he's all better" Panuleon smiled and kissed his son's knee.

Luka inspected it and felt happy that it looked back to normal.
